Red Rocket Mansion: Simple Scavver Opulence

So,I'm well aware of the Triangles of Death. That said,I'm an absolute madman, and insist on courting them, anyways. I plan on building up Abernathy Farm as an industrial farm, and Sanctuary Hills as a regional commercial hub... After I figure out how to knock down the damn houses; Console doesn't work (Can't even select the houses),and using a mod that removes them wholesale will preclude using a City Plan in Sanctuary on future playthroughs.

If you have any solutions or thoughts to my Sanctuary issue,I have a thread right >HERE< for that.

However,I'm turning the Red Rocket into my home. And I said to myself, "Self, what if I went HAM on this?" And so I did. My general design idea was to seal all but one entrance to the building, use an elevator, accessed from inside,to access the roof where the mansion itself is,and to turn the Red Rocket ornament into the centrepiece of both the house, and a lookout. Right now,I've accomplished all of this, and the house is also completely lit up. Now,I have a new problem; It's so sparse. It might as well be dead.

So,here's the deal; I'mma show off what I got so far,and tell you how I did it. I want you to give me suggestions on how to tweak, refine, and most importantly, decorate,my new mansion. Now,before we begin, here's a list of mods that I have installed that are relevant to the build. If your suggestions require a mod, don't hesitate to note them, and drop a Nexusmods link.

-Zebrina's Workshop Devices: Advanced devices for your settlement needs! >LINK<
-Place Everywhere: I'm pretty sure every single one of us has this installed. >LINK<
-Armour and Weapons Keyword Community Resource: The one mod that tries to unify equipment mods with a system, and a prerequisite for the next mod. Also,it adds some crafting tables.>LINK<
-Armoursmith Extended: Lets you mod armour more deeply. Also includes an Armoursmith Workbench, which lets you make armour yourself,as well as things like gloves. God,I wish there were gloves for armour in vanilla. >LINK<
-Boston Natural Surroundings: It doesn't impact building directly, but this mod is why my game has some actual goddamned colour. >LINK<
Wall Pass-Through Power Conduits: Why isn't this vanilla? A collection of Power Conduits that penetrate through walls of assorted thickness, with snapping points on the far side, allowing you to run wires through walls, without busting out some clever legerdemain. >LINK<

And now,we begin. I'll be putting all screenshots in spoilers,so you won't have to front-load them all,and you can easily minimize them to ease scrolling. All screenshots were taken in 1920*1080.

So,this is what you see, when coming in from Sanctuary Hills. Dunno about you,but when I look at that, all I can think is, "Damn, that looks fine." Pictured is the elevator, power armour bay,and one side of the mansion.

Now,upon approaching, you'll notice something; The Red Rocket's buttoned up tight. The entrance under the rain shelter's blocked off by a half-height wall, and the garage door is closed,as well as blocked off with yet more half-height walls, with the only button to control it inside the garage itself. The side door isn't blocked off. Well, not exactly; I've gone ans built an airlock on it,and two one way doors that demand encoded ID Cards in order to open; Thank you,Zebrina's Workshop Devices! This means there's exactly one way in or out; This airlock, which is a controlled passage.

Entrance door shown. Exit on the far wall.

I used the vanilla game's Warehouse pieces for the elevator, airlock, and power armour bays,as well as for blocking off the other entrances.

Now,inside the Red Rocket's been stripped bare; The only things left are the service counter, some burnt magazines, some tables by the window I really wish I could scrap, and the Workshop Bench itself. Everything else was scrapped for materials,or moved upstairs. So,when you pop in the airlock, you have a straight shot for the elevator. The structure attached to the shaft with the sloped roof contains the elevator's dedicated generator, which is protected from all sides. Now,once you reach the top of the elevator, you're greeted with not only a pleasant view of the way down to Concord, but also the power armour bay; Why bother bringing the walking tank inside the house? So long as it's behind the security cordon,we're all fine. I used the lit power armour station from AWKCR,instead of the vanilla one, because why the Hell not? There's lighting on the walkway for nighttime visibility, and the generator's below, providing power to the lighting in the mansion itself. There's even a welcome mat! Be sure to wipe your feet before coming in!

Note the stairs on the lower foundations are just to emulate mounting struts; If I used the stilted foundations, the legs would be very visible inside the Red Rocket. You're not meant to go under the stilts.

And now,we get inside. It's a little sparse,at the moment, but that's part of why I'm here; I've always been hot trash at decoration. But,the space is here, and it works. So,in the first screenshot,we're in the corner to the left of the door, looking towards the stairs going up. Visible is the Red Rocket ornament, being used as the house's centrepiece, the cooking stove by the door, the workshop's entrance right beside that, and the entrance to my quarters, taking up a full quarter of the first floor's space. As you can see,I have the place very well lit,and I'm endeavouring to keep to a "homey scrappy" feel.

The second screenshot is the opposite view; From the stairs,to the door. From here, you can see the wire I've run in through the wall, thanks to Wall Pass-Through Power Conduits. I've been keeping the wires at ceiling level, for the sake of "electrical safety". You can also better see the mat I've placed in front of the door to the workshop; Gotta keep static and excess filth out! Also, note that the front door swings open into the house, just in case I need to barricade it.

The third and fourth screenshots are of the workshop; I have the Chem Lab in the corner, with a Compact Ammo Workbench on top of it. I've also put up a cheeky "Chemistry of Gunpowder" poster up above it,courtesy of AWKCR; It just fits, you know? Opposite that is the Weapons Workbench, which I've cannibalized from the garage below, and right by the door is the Armour Workbench, also cannibalized from the garage. Another mat's been placed inside, because redundancy is safe!

Screenshots five and six are of my personal quarters, which I've decided to divide into two sections; Bedroom, and lounge. The "bedroom" consists of a nice and clean bed, with a steamer trunk at the foot of the bed,and a lamp-equipped endtable beside the bed. With a rug beneath it all. The lounge is a nice and clean armchair, with a table, and a radio tuned into Diamond City Radio; Gotta get the news, even if the DJ is a bag of nerves.

Screenshots seven and eight are of the way to the lookout. Pretty small spaces, but it keeps the rain out. Interestingly,I have no power conduits leading up the stairwell,or even really near it; The stairwell is in the middle of the house, and the wires are all along the outside walls. Somehow, two floors up,that lightbulb in the eighth screenshot works.
Now,if only I could get the inside surfaces of these walls done up in red planking...

Like I said; Inside's pretty damn sparse. But now,we get to the lookout. I actually had to redesign this four times before I got to where I am now. Long sightlines, and a great breeze. Who wants Radstag? The first screenshot shows where the lion's share of the space is up here, while the second shows a small area where I might be able to squeeze a thing or two in. I'm thinking patio furniture would be great up here, but I can't for the life of me remember where that magazine is.

And now, purely for vanity's sake; Check out this absolutely gorgeous view! We're going counterclockwise from Southwest (The direction of Abernathy Farm).
Southwest.

Southeast. I wish the game rendered in the hairball going on in front of the museum while I was building this; I'm sure Preston would've appreciated the mile-long head detonations.

Northeast. Yeah, the trees are in the way,but damn,it's pretty all the same.
Egi94dt.jpg

Northwest. The way back to Sanctuary Hills, and a nice shot of the river.

And that's what I got,so far. I'd like feedback, especially with how to decorate the place. Remember; I'm trying to stick to a "Homey scavver" aesthetic.
