Question Recommended Performance Settings?

Hey everyone. First off to the SS team you have done a great job snd I love the mod so far. I did wish to know if we have any data on what a pc should be able to perform at SS wise. I recently built a new pc and while I feel that it should be able to handle slmost any game at max settings I am in no way an expert. I was running Ss on ultra with lvl 3 prebuilt cities and my game CTD at abernathy farms. I lowered all settings to medium and turned off everything I could in the SS performance manager holotape. This fixed the CTD but I wanted to post my system specs here so that we can see if my system should ideally be able to handle that workload, and if so, why is it CTD?

nvidia rtx 2080 super
Ryzen i7
16 gb ram
Be quiet dark rock pro cooler

while I am sure other components play a role, these should be the primary heavy lifters. So what do you all think? Is ultra feasible and the CTD related to something else, or does SS run on ultra need a more stout system?
Thanks!

its not about your hardware. you could be running a this on the entire amazon cloud and it would still be all about the game engine.

Agreed not your computer.

It is mods or ini settings need to be beefed up for video ... make sure to disable the shadows from ultra to medium. That will help the most.

But other ctd would be other issues.

John

I apologize if this is a dumb question but do any of you know where I can read about how to beef up .ini files? Is that something that I would do or a mod author?

See performance settings and ini section

[Papyrus]
fUpdateBudgetMS=2.4
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.4
iMinMemoryPageSize=256
iMaxMemoryPageSize=1024
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=307200

And the below at your own risk. I have used some of the suggestions below to some apparent benefit but you must test in your own system and interpolate for your specs.

It turned out to be a minigun mod. The game started working after clearing that mod out. I restarted my game and cleared out build anywhere, unlimited companion frame work and no build limits. I was playing with Crime and Punishment as well but until I can get the basic conqueror mechanics to work I am going to run minimal mods and slowly add and see if any of them break the game. I copied my entire fo4 folder to desktop as a backup in case the main folder gets a corrupted save or I fubar it doing manual installs. My goal is to eventually have CAP, SS and conqueror running perfectly I would like to add FCOM but on my last playthrough I couldn't get that to work.

you will have to carefully bake that save as if you are a “master baker” but the ingredients are all there.

:acute

oh, I would leave FCOM out If I were you.
When you really start to dig into Conqueror you will realize it is far deeper than most folks imagined. Then you will understand the learning curve that will give even hardcore Strategist a whole new meaning to FO4. It is really that deep.
