Questions about City Plans for Mod-added Settlements

Hello everyone! I've been wondering about the feasibility of posting city plans here for mod-added settlements. What I have in mind is maybe I could try and share some settlements I built in modded places because I like what I did and I want to keep those as city plans for future playthroughs, and at the same time I would be proud to show what I did. But I haven't seen many city plans like that, as most people will build in vanilla places of course because they'll enter contests for them or simply they don't want to play with more mods. So could someone explain how I should proceed if I were to create city plans for mod-added settlements and eventually share them, is that much different from doing so for vanilla locations? Thanks in advance, and if I posted this in the wrong sub-forum please tell me!

I know you can create city plans for mod added settlements. There is just an extra step required. Having never made any I don't know exactly what it entails.
The Create Add On section of the Wiki has a whole section on creating city plans. If I am remembering correctly there is a info within those guides on how to handle custom settlements.
I wish you luck with your exporting. While I never use custom settlements it would be neat to see what you make.
You might even get some user to start playing with those settlements.

IIRC, the only difference is the base "untouched" scrap profile needs to be created. The web tool has the base scrap profiles for the vanilla and dlc settlements only.

So basically you need to export the untouched settlement, the settlement with the objects you want scrapped removed and the city plan levels.

Warning: Its been a while since I made a city plan so I don't trust my memory! ;)

Are your plans already downloadable on a platform?

Oh I don't have any yet, no.
(J'avais pas fait gaffe que t'étais français, incroyable.)

It's not hard doing a custom scrap profile,
I have done them for vanilla settlements as the standard ones the creator uses can miss things that can be scrapped.

As Msalaba said, you need to have extra export log files - two of them.

The first is easy - (Untouched Settlement):
  • go to the custom settlement, use the workbench (so you own the settlement) then exit workshop with out touching anything.
  • use manage options to export the settlement (then rename it so you know its the untouched version).

Second one (Fully Scrapped Settlement):
  • get rid of all the objects and items in the custom settlement you don't want, (trees, rocks etc)
  • You could also check to see what is removed when you use the scrap settlement option from the workbench (this typically gets rid of all the things the player can pick up but customs settlements might have extras)
  • use manage options to export the settlement (then rename it so you know its the scrapped version).

When you have you city plan (or layout) export log files ready, put them in the web creator and then click on the 'Configure Scrap Profiles' option.
Then just put in the files for the Untouched settlement and the Fully scrapped settlement.
