Question Question About Food Resources and already populated settlements

I am having difficulty managing the food resources when I take over settlements like Abernathy Farm, Greygarden or Tenpines Bluff. Greygarden is a particular problem because I am having an added issue of robot happiness at that settlement. As soon as I start developing these settlements with Sim Settlement assets like additional farms the food resources are no longer counted "correctly." The existing crops that are still being farmed appear not to be counted at all. Or are counted incorrectly. In the case of Greygarden, its food resources plummet from around 32 to 4 or 6. The individual robots are only getting credited for farming 1.5 food resources. Is this as intended? In the case of Greygarden I have speculated but am not certain that their food production is linked to robot happiness. Is that the case across the board? Most new settlements start at a fairly low happiness rating. Is that affecting the count of the existing crops?

My main question is how should this be working and does this sound as if my game is working as intended?

I have a second issue with Robot Happiness. The Robot Morale Officer city leader perk doesn't appear to be working the way it used to. In the past, I could use Codsworth to elevate happiness at Greygarden. This perk doesn't appear to work anymore. It appears to work when he is initially recruited but if I leave the settlement for other game play and come back happiness has plummetted back down to 50 and remains stuck there. I discovered the existence of the Robot Diagnostic industrial plot in one of my add-ons and that has been helping and does appear to work over time.

If you are using MCM there is a setting to change/increase robot happiness. Otherwise you could use the mod Happy Maker 9000, a jukebox which will raise happiness to 100 quickly. There are also a lot of SS add-on plots which raise happiness, I don't know how successful they'll be in Greygarden.

As for the food problem: The agricultural plots will definitely beat the production from normal crops - once they level up, that is. So at first the production will go down, but will increase again dramatically.
