Maybe put a PSA on the wiki for nVidia users. Currently nVidia drivers newer than v442.92 do not play nice with the Fallout 4 game engine. It is also worth noting that I experienced W10 updating my video driver last patch Tuesday. I was constantly crashing in the Concord area. After rolling back to v442.92, the problems went away.
There are scattered bits about this in the posts on the Buffout 4 Nexus page. There also is some info on this at the bottom of this page:
Maybe put a sticky on the help forum? Some of the reported issues might be related to this.

In what way does it not play nice with Fallout 4? I have driver version 460.89 and it seems to work fine for me.

It causes random CTD's on certain cards. I know my 2080 is affected by it. 10-15 minutes into the game it will randomly crash.

I'm running a GTX 1070. FO4 worked fine one day, then the next I crashed about every 5-10 min. and any time I got near Concord. The Buffout 4 crashlog had 19 Fallout 4.exe and one ntdll.dll so I ruled out mods. I rolled back my driver version and went on my merry way.

I'm still confused about why W10 decided to update my video drivers. Windows has never done that in the past. Is this some new dumb feature that we the users can't disable? The old (W7) win update had everything in categories and drivers were always optional. More feature creep?

For me drivers are still coming up as optional in Windows 10. I am running the last release however and not any of the new insider builds so it may have changed.

I'm running:
Edition Windows 10 Home
Version 20H2
Installed on ‎7/‎28/‎2020
OS build 19042.685
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

I see no options in the Windows Update:

No insider program either. Maybe the good options are only available in other versions...

Edit- The advanced options are worthless as well...

It only appears if there is a driver update when you do check update. It is under optional updates

You know, I think I saw that once, a long time ago. It's still strange that I did not get that and W10 just updated my nVidia drivers, while I was in the CK no less!
Maybe I need to take a stroll to the W10 forum! Is this the beginning of a new meme? "cause Micro$oft?" :scratchhead :unknw

Thanks for sharing this.

I had been having some new CTD's recently, and have had a VERY hard time tracking them down.
(normally, in various places I am the guy helping others track down CTD's...the irony).

I did not recall updating my driver (unless it is broke - I rarely try to fix it) - and checked and mine is at 457.67

Been getting random CTD's and even getting major graphical glitches right before the crash.

I will try to roll back my driver and see if I get more stability.

GTX1070 max q.

I've also got a GTX1070 and have random CTDs. It was so much better after I went through and removed mods and addon packs one by one until I found what wasn't playing nice with the others, but then it started up again and not in settlements, it's also happening when I'm questing, now.

Years ago I used to always have problems when NVidia 3d settings Power Management was set "Optimal" or "Adaptive." Every time I made sure that setting was Maximum Performance the problems went away.

I am normally not an Nvidia guy but it's what came in the system my buddy passed down to me for Xmas

Never, never, never, never buy AMD/Radeon graphics cards.
Ever.

Been running the latest drivers with Buffout 4/High FPS Fix/Weapon Debris Fix and maxed out settings with no issues. Even with ENB stable 72FPS across the board. Your mileage may vary but the latest drivers seems to have changed something after I CTD every 10 - 15 minutes guaranteed.

I'm going through past threads here and I don't see this in the wiki. Did it get added somewhere that I just haven't seen, yet? Known Issues would be the best place and it's definitely not there.
