When I got to Sunshine Tidings the prebuilt civilians occupying Sunshine Tidings killed him.

Seeming how he can be a Sim Settlements leader that kinda sucks.
 
i had a pre-built there and it also scrapped his console, which i thought was a bit (actually quite a lot) unnecessary.
the only way around it is to not use a pre-built there, so i always exclude that location for those reasons.
in my current play through, I'm yet to build there, and perhaps i won't at all, but i have Goodfeels lapping the barn, in his own happy little way, which is reassurring to me, any time i pass that location.
rock on goodfeels you crazy bastard!
 
I always felt bad for Goodfeels because it has to be the worst mistreated NPC.

1. First super mutant fluid encounter form the location in front or behind the settlement kills him.
2. He despawns if you leave the area even if Goodfeels survived #1.
3. Sending Goodsfeels off to be repaired does not work even if you manage to hack the terminal.
4. Goodfeels was completely excluded from Automatron.
 
there's a mod you can download which fixes a lot of the bugs with goodfeels. i have it installed, and he never despawns.
i remember once i sent him off to get repaired and then followed him all the way to the robot place. i lost him soon after, but then he reappeared in concorde and i saw him fighting some raiders. sadly he wasn't essential so they killed him. now i make him essential in every game - i have to have that loopy robot in my game.
