Problem with choosing building plan (industrial plot)

To start i looked at the sticky of common problems and searched to seemingly no avail, but I apologize if I just missed something.

I really want to make a building materials gatherer. And at first I didn't really understand how the thing worked so I probably took out everything that was in the plan menu and started putting some back trying to figure out how to work the thing. Eventually I googled it and figured out how to do it. Well now, I can let randomize build random plants (so far its scrap heaps) but I've been making more and more industrial plots trying to figure out why my problem keeps happening.

I digress, the problem I am having is now when I pick the building material gatherer plan, it only tries to build the shed and im really confused I have enough sheds but can't manually pick the gatherer. (Idk if it won't let me pick anything else either, haven't tried manually picking the other stuff.) It might be script lag (not really sure that's why I made this thread) and so I am doing what it says and leaving my game be for about 15 minutes to wait and see. I have a nvidia geforce rtx 2070 super, but I have an amd ryzen 5 3600x so maybe my processor isn't the best and it is script lag. I hope it is something that simple because im not sure what else it could be. I only have like 7 mods and only one other pertains to settlements (homemaker)

Thanks in advance,

Doing it right now, I imagine it's supposed to take a bit of time so I'm just waiting for it to finish, I'll let you know when its done if it worked.

Have you progressed the story enough to build industrial plots and unlocked them? Just because plots appear in say a city plan, if you haven't unlocked them you can't actually build them yourself.

Yeah I progressed far enough to build an industrial plot. I just can't choose material gatherer it will default to making the shed even if I take the gatherer plan, accept and exit out.

It honestly sounds like a mod conflict or serious script lag. And yes even with a high end card or machine it happens. You can't brute force Fallout no matter what your machine is capable of.

Fallout does not support adding or removing mods mid game. Always start a new game with your load order and any change, you should always start a new game. Especially if the mod you are adding/taking away is an esp or esm, esl's you can get way with adding and removing mid game with little or no issue. Basically any change in your load order mid game will break your save.

Okay im gonna remove homemaker, start a new game with alternate start and some other stuff I might want so I don't try adding things mid game. I'm only gonna download settlement addons for things related to settlement. I'm thinking about adding a quest mod too and im hoping that is compatible. Cause ill probably wanna play it later and don't want to keep starting over.
Anyways ill let you know if making a new game solves the issue

Alt start is a problem, quest mods depending on what ones can be issues. And don't ever use Scrap Everything.

Yeah let me check im using vortex so the plug-ins list looks like this

#Automatically generated by Vortex
*HUDFramework.esm
*WorkshopFramework.esm
*SS2.esm
*TrueStormsF04.esm
*TrueStormsFO4-EarlierSunsets.esp
*OutcastsandRemnants.esp
*AA FusionCityRising.esp
*CheatTerminal.esp
*AA 50 Ways To Die.esp
*projectvalkyrie.esp
*startmeup.esp (only using this for skipping long intro not using it to change any storyline things.)

So the Unofficial Patch is a good thing to add and is very useful in fixing things. The ThuggySmurf mods have been reported to cause issues with an Important NPC.and do not use Startme Up or any other Alt start mods.

Okay I cant get the unofficial patch because I don't have the dlcs at the moment. And so there's no way to shorten the starting prologue thing then?

I'm really interested in playing this mod so I'm gonna restart again without the alt start me up. I hope it works this time because idk if i can handle going through the intro a third time today. what is the thuggysmurf mods? The outcasts one? Is it something I can just avoid or fix someway cause I'm kinda interested in checking it out if so.
