Solved Preview In-game Prebuilt Settlements

During my recent games as a BoS liberator, I have had problems due to very complex prebuilt settlements. I have watched numerous Kinggath videos regarding prebuilts, particularly those involving contests, but what I have not heard/seen or missed is a method to preview an in-game prebuilt settlement, before you discover it. So is there a method to preview a prebuilt in game settlement after leaving the vault?
Thank you.

In the absence of a fast Kinggath secret method :dance2I did it the old fashion way:
  1. Determined the prebuilt settlements I wanted to inspect
  2. Using an old unmodded save, successfully loaded mods including Conqueror immediately after completing the Sanctuary/Codsworth/Bloatflies quest. (Per MrCjohn, this approach may result in later problems, but so far it has worked for me, probably due to no DLCs, 39 mods and no scrapping mods)
  3. Specified the prebuilt settlements in the Conqueror City Options
  4. Waited in Sanctuary about 1 hour for Conqueror to work
  5. Saved game
  6. Used console command "tmm 1" to show all map markers and allow fast travel
  7. Used console command "tdetect" to disable AI detection (however, I learned that this does not disable ghoul and mirelurk detection after being chased around Spectacle Island)
  8. Saved game
  9. Spent several hours fast traveling and inspecting prebuilt settlements with the occasional CTD

"may result in later problems"....

"... with the occasional CTD"

From my viewpoint of not having a single CTD anymore (except if testing an unknown) ... yeah....

:)

PS - had to laugh about being chased around Spectacle Island... roughly at level 1 to 2 after Codsworth! "TGM"

Thanks

After some of the problems I encountered with Bethesda's vanilla Fallout 4, I consider 1 CTD/freeze every 20 hours to be a success. Fortunately for me, because I play on survival, there is the Survival Options mod by Jekod which allows saving.

I only play survival and use Unlimited.... without fast travel, I dont encounter most of the CTD others do. I also use Journey but havent unlocked the whole map.

I noted in another post of yours, you walk everywhere which you credit with CTD prevention. As a BoS Liberator, I like to fly around the map, and will walk to many places, but my impatience frequently wins. Your patience is to be commended.
