Patch 2.0.4 is available now!

This patch has changes for Sim Settlements and Industrial Revolution - be sure to update both.

Adds a new Happiness Report to help demystify the happiness stat, treats provisioners as citizens, improves many buildings, and adds Performance Options support to all Sim Settlements and Industrial Revolution buildings.

Click here for the full patch notes.

Industrial Revolution
Were you also able to reduce the file size for the Industrial Revolution addon? It seems to be 20-30 mb smaller (280ish on Xbox vs. over 300). Just wanted to check in the case this was not expected and indicates an upload error.

Yeah, I found a lot of unused files. Although the size is going to go back up again in one of the next few patches as I have a lot of assets to add still for some of the upcoming content.

First of all, I love your mod! It added a reason for me to actually interact with my settlements. Fawning aside, I do have a question. You added provisioners to the settlements count so they can have home. Nice touch, but what about those of us who use robots as provisioners? I don't know if my robot provisioners have been dragging down my settlements' happiness or not. By the time I start deploying robot provisioners, most of my settlements are in the high 80 range for happiness and that is good enough for me. Now with my robo-provisioner owning a home, his max happiness of 50 will most likely be added in to my happiness calculation. So, please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks and congrats on the new baby!

A single happiness plot will easily counteract a couple of robots in the settlement.

An alternative approach would be to simply base all your robots at the mechanist's lair and don't drive yourself nuts trying to build there. 1 robot per settlement and they hub at the lair. Frees a settler for more important duties like staring at walls and getting in the way whining about how everything hurts.

None of kinggath's changes (to provisioners or otherwise) have anything to do with how robots affect happiness. The robots ahve always impacted your happiness and that doesn't change (for better or worse) with these new changes.

However, it isn't hard to offset the robots impact on your happiness, especially if you are only trying to keep in the 80-90 range of happiness. You can stay at an 80 happiness with a ratio as high as 3 humans for every 2 robots by utilizing the same tactics required to get a normal all-human settlement up to 100 happiness. Most folks don't have that many robots, sot hey become a non-issue.

Maybe a bizarre question - What about robot provisioners? I remembered the provisioner-unemployed and robot-happiness bugs/features/exploits (bugsploits?) and used a bunch of eyebots for provisioners on long range/high risk runs. Any predictions on behavior, stability, dynamic needs?

I haven't seen the provisioner reset bug pop up yet... I'm using sentry bots with all exactly the same loadouts and pink paint.

Maybe the reset bug has taste... :)

Thank you for the happiness report, kinggath - much appreciated.

Is it possible to show the target on the HUDFramework? Perhaps as a vertical line on the happiness bar?

No, but it happens more often when you fast travel into a settlement when they arrive.

In fact it happens so often, I have made a batch files to give myself the basic core of my provisioners.

I could do a ton more with the UI if I had a flash developer on my team. I only know one person with Flash experience and he's already being stretched thin on a ton of other SS projects. So if any of you knows anyone with Flash/Actionscript experience that wants to help out, send them my way!

Hello Kinggath and team.

Well, you succeeded in making me do something I had thought I'd never do again (reinstall FO4), but watching the development of this Mod and the mods which go along with it has had me considering it for a number of months now. It looks fabulous and I can't wait to try it out, thank you for all your hard work.

But I digress, I have just downloaded both Sim Settlement and the Industrial Revolution; I made sure to download both up-to-date versions. The issue I have is that loot is giving me a warning stating that I should have the most up-to-date versions of both, Sim Settlements is 2.0.4a while industrial Revolution is just 2.0.4. Am I ok to proceed or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

W&S

@wandererandshadow Nope - that's just a problem with the way LOOT checks, it's not aware of my letter system for flagging hot fixes. As long as the numbers match, you're good to go!

Fantastic, thanks a million, Kinggath!

Alas, I knew it'd be this way, decided against sleeping to build up Sanctuary last night. Love this mod!!!

I must have misunderstood...I thought that the patch was adding homes for provisioners. My mistake was that I thought that it was building a home for them at their destination, not their home base. I reread the patch notes and re-watched the video. Thank you for the quick response!
