Old Paul Statue

There is no reason you can't create a memorial to him.
Everything you need is available for free.
 
I miss Old Paul and was very disappointed to see him killed off. And I miss little Cola. I sent her to a settlement but she never showed up. I wish Paul could be resurrected in some fashion. How about Old Paul Jr.? Have him show up at HQ one day, pressing the intercom and asking to meet Jake and the sole survivor. Or have the character show up in chapter 3 as Paul's son who asks about his father? He was an engaging and endearing character. Maybe just to me and a few others. But having the game memoralize him would be a nice gesture to a pivotal tutorial character.

And while meandering down memory lane, how about Three Dog? Another character I really miss from FO3. Wouldn't that be a kick.
 
Regarding the future of Old Paul - I can see one option that would even "fit" into the game's lore AND tie into what we know of his life story, but it'd be downright cruel to do what I'm thinking. (although if I were on the writing team, I'd do it anyway - probably too late into CH3 development to put that kind of thing in now though)

A lot of people have noted that - myself included. Only way I could get her to go where I sent her was using console commands to teleport her.

how about Three Dog?
Funny story about that, which kinggath has related on the livestreams. Apparently, an early iteration of SS2's story didn't have the person we now know as "Jake" - instead, it had Three Dog. With his original voice actor. But due to Legal Issues regarding contracts and voice actor unions, that wasn't something they were able to pull off.
 
I doubt I have the skill at the moment to do it myself, but I could see having a themed 1x1 cemetery plot dedicated to him would be a nice addition.
Obviously anyone that can help out and make assets is a boon for the whole community, but no reason the rest of us can't do a bit of clay modelling with each other's ideas to better see potential. Cemetery plot statue sounds great, and I could see using that, and I could see my self using it in my first settlement as well as Stodges. However, given his defiance to the end, I could also envisage a larger statue replacing the globe out the front of former gunner HQ symbolising a Commonwealth reborn.

To quote Dylan Thomas:
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

Or if you prefer Bill Pullman in Independence Day:
"We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight!"

Given the close proximity to HQ, I'm not sure if that option could be separated out of main storyline.

Time wise, maybe launch a side quest early in Ch3, touching base with the artisan a few more times as it goes up until tying its completion in with a major storyline achievement (chapter end or beyond). Characters watching the construction may reflect, some from knowing him personally while others speak to his defiance. Either way, it'd be a way to share elements of character depth that might not be revealed under other conditions.

That said, just an idea. Take it or leave it.

Rather 2 new 1/1 "recreational" plots. One that's a CHA plot, that's his grave, and one that's a Relaxation plot, that's a statue of him and Cola.
 
Perhaps we could do something with a rebuilt cyber Paul or a synth version? Perhaps the institute planned to replace him but the Gunners got to him first? Could make for an interesting story told right.

I also miss him - his character acting was strong and good. Id put up an Old Paul statue in my settlements. Though perhaps an industrial 1x1 that makes some guns for the settlement?
 
Paul deserves all the love. Maybe not the in-story resurrecting but still... Last game I made him a glass memorial with a stand for his gun. And a couple weapons shops and weapon productions. All for him. Guns!
I'm thinking Archibald could make a sculpture of him. Out of something more refined than the usual junk. Only problem is they never met...
(But hey, let us recruit Archibald as the resident HQ artist! Or Benni Strong for a heroic portrait)
Also yeah, Cola seems to suffer from the same fate as the pet store pets. They don't get sent to a new place when you tell them to.
 
Maybe he could be synthed? Even his brain. Doctor Amari keeps selling herself short but I'm pretty sure she can do just about anything.
 
That's kinda too much. Synth Berman or Wes on the other hand... Make a clone of them, put them on guard duty (insert Palpatine ironic meme). Still need an institute collaboration for that, Dr Amari can't do jack shit other than rewriting or hacking memories.
