ok been awhile since i been here and SS2 is new to me lol thought kinggath was jack that would be fun
but anyways idk how to get a plot to choose a build plan
the ASAMS dont seem that new to me never used them in the first SS but the plans seem great but idk how to get the plot to choose it..like do i seel after i buy it or what? if its just buy then the plot isnt choosing the plan i figured out how to check but idk how to get the plot to choose it
ik my question will get answered and i appreciate that but if i may suggest making a tut video explaining the plot building plans im sure im not the only one and a tut video might help tnx :)

You "buy" the design you want from the list, and have to approve the transaction. After you do that and close the trade window, it will take a moment then probably ask you to confirm again with another box that lists the building costs.
Sometimes it can be a bit finicky about timing, especially if a settler gets auto assigned and starts building something while you are choosing.

And no, kinggath isnt directly Jake, but I can see how people think that. (I dont think he actually voices anyone in the mod now that I think, but I havent met every single Unique Settler)

place the Asam/plot and then use the Asam.

I’d recommend going through your city manager setting holotape. There are many options you may want to know about but more importantly, if you don’t turn auto assign to off, then the random plan selected by the Asam will be built.

Side note, you won’t be able to use the Asam or choose the plot during the Jake quest of placing them.

ahh ok i think i get it..so disable auto assign..hmm well that wont stop them from building and they'll build the plan i want them to build just need to manually assign them..also plots still need power (except food type plots and w.e else) but npcs that are auto assign start building and when i hover over the plot its in green meaning its got what it needs even though i didn't connect a power line to it why is that?

The left hand side (which is empty) is the what it will build.
If you put multiple plans into the left side it will choose one at random.

For interior plots most modders took the time to mark which side is the side settlers can enter. This makes planning so much easier.
RF = Right Front
LF = Left Front
RE = Right End
LE = Left End
FF = Full Front

Powering plots is a bit more easier now since the power poles radiate power around them. You can place 4 2x2 in a block formation and only use one pole to power them all. Which means fewer poles and less things to draw, better budget, etc.

Sweet...btw there a way to keep "auto assign" on but get npcs to build the plan i pick for them?
if not that might be a cool feature dont you think..more then that it would be helpful because most plans will provide more
if you don't know what i mean here's a better explanation: for example i dont want a settler to build a junk yard that collects junk with no use but things like building materials. or i want a settler to build a garden that supports more then 1 person maybe like 3 people at the same time so the others get food faster..but i want settlers to be auto assigned to these places and stick with those plans instead of picking there own which isn't as good as the one i want

Settlers will only build based upon the plot type you drop. Meaning they can only build homes on residential, farms on agriculture, etc.
As to what plan they use a plot you have multiple choices:
1. Choose nothing and they build any random plan for that plot type.
2. Choose the class and they random build a plan of that class. Class being Single home, Multi Home, Basic Industry, Scavenging, etc.
3. Choose the exact plan you want built.

Do i need auto assign disabled for them to build the plan i want them to build?
i also had fun testing the building plans when i had settlers already assigned i used my robots to test it and it worked
but that was after i turned auto assign off..which brings me back to the question i just asked..or do i need auto assign off for them to build the plan i want them to..i already know about the plots

Yes and no. There is like a window that you can pick the plot and it builds what you want. However if you miss that window due to script lag it can end up building a plan you did not want. Of course turning off auto-assign should prevent this.

I see...and this is going to get fixed right?
