Mission for The Ron not advancing.

So after I met him in the SS2 storyline, I asked The Ron for a job, and he gave me what seems to be a radiant quest to go get a holotape from Mass Turnpike Tunnel. So far, all good. Found the holotape in the boss chest there, except it was named "Holotape Name" and it didn't advance the quest after I picked it up. Now can't turn it in, but I can ask for a new quest, and he just tells me I have to finish the job I'm on first. Could, of course, just be janky vanilla questiness failing to work correctly, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

When you first enter his office, he asks you to take a seat.

When you do so, the quest-advancing dialogue happens.

The holotape chase is a radiant quest.

No, yeah, I got all his main quest stuff out of the way first, so no problem there. It's just when I stayed around after to talk to him and got that radiant quest that's acting wonky.

Have you completed both of his side quests as well?

Hmm, no. I went there after
Jake asked me to, and he gave me the tip to go to Vault 81 to find the Vit-o-matic.
After that conversation ended, I talked to him again, and that's when he gave me this radiant quest.

Try completing the side quests (they're great), and let me know.

Meanwhile, I'll give it a look as well.

Thanks!

Now that I think about it, are you talking about the settler leads he gives you? Or the ones he offers to sell you after? Yeah, those next two are probably on my list.

I am also having this problem and I did track down the settlers. For me it was a charge card from turbine 18-f. I was wondering if the fact that I am traveling with Heather Casdin as well as a vanilla companion might have messed with the quest prompts.

Shouldn't have anything to do with Heather.

I've had issues with heather in some cases I do think there is some kind of conflict due to how complex SS2 is. When recruiting the settlers in the cave in the far east of the map the kid that follows you out just said a line and faded out of existence. When I dismissed Heather the quest went on as normal and I didn't get stuck on finding the brahmin. The first time an issue occurred with Heather was when Jake or the stranger first followed me the first time and I was unable to recruit Heather, she just stood there and sprouted the same lines. Once I finished the quest I was on and revisited Heather I was able to recruit her, I'm assuming she and Jake take the same companion slot that allows regular vanilla companions to be recruited but once I recruited Heather in subsequent quests Jake was able to follow me as the quests intended.

I started another play-through with a very small mod-list. SS2, the mods it needs to work, and its add-ons. I still can't turn in the items for The Ron's fetch quests.

i have the same issue as above. Get some information from beantown brewery. found a "holotape" in a chest called "holotape name". It is flagged as a quest item, since i cannot drop it, and the quest marker is always moved to my position, but the quest will not advance. Using the latest version up-to date.

It's not game breaking by any means just kinda annoying. I still really appreciate Sim Settlements 2. It truely makes the settlement building much more fun, and settlement building is the only reason I still play Fallout 4.
