Missing HUD elements

I have HUDframework installed along with FallUI and the Ultra Wide Interface mod and I am not seeing the resource panel and status bar HUD elements. The AR holo icons work perfectly fine but none of the other HUD elements are showing (I have crosshairs enabled). I tested with and without the other UI mods mentioned and started a new save and am still not seeing these HUD elements. I tried to use the MCM to adjust them thinking they might be stuck offscreen but nothing happened so it seems that they are missing entirely

Hello, and welcome.

As I understand it, UI mods may face some issues with the next gen update to FO4, so if you have implemented the update, and the UI mods have not yet been updated, that may be your issue. I don't use an UW monitor, and so far I have lucked out and avoided any UI issues, but I am always expecting one to pop up until HUDFramework is updated.

If you think it might be something other than the next gen update, if you will please post your loadorder.txt and plugins.txt (under the spoiler tag or as attachments), then the community can take a look and see if anything else looks like an issue. A screenshot of your settlement workshop UI in game might possibly help as well.

I haven't updated to the next-gen version, so it can't be that. I've attached my plugins.txt, loadorder.txt and a screenshot in game20240505114348_1.jpg

A quick search leads me to think this is a regular problem for Ultra Wide monitor players. Make sure you use the WSFW Override file, and check out a couple of past posts on the subject here and here. There are more out there, but I hope these will help.

I've tried disabling all my hud mods including the ultrawide fix, I've tried using TRUDY9 ultrawide instead, changing load orders, using the override file, everything and nothing I do is making this HUD appear. I'm at the end of my rope and I don't know what to do

Same here with DEF UI and Ultrawide.

If we absolutely can't get the HUD information is the best course of action just to set the SS2 mode to "easy" and just remove all of the requirements?

I'm on a survival save and I'd like to play the SS2 game on that difficulty, but if ain't in the cards it ain't in the cards.

I have this issue myself with FallUI and SS2 HUD, I swear it used to be fine and it was somehow working, and I'm far from the only FallUI user here. But it was a while ago and can't remember anymore lol. Gonna do some googling and post if there's any help

Ok I think I made it work.
From charles77550's comment here https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/51813?tab=bugs&BH=5
I have the same problem.
If the crosshair has a scale below 70 the widgets of Sim settlements 2 disappear.

The workaround, if you don't like big crosshair.
This is to change the "Aiming" style to dot, and keep scale above 70.
I did that and now it works :) Using Thana Khan preset. Overall any HUD issues with SS2 are related to crosshairs, it seems.
You'd have to turn off controller (if using) to tinker with this, then turn it back on and load the game again while layout menu is still open (and probably one more time, same game). Like it says.

With only FallUI and no ultrawide fix I still don't see the widgets, same with no HUD mods except HUDframework
I tried tweaking the crosshair size and still nothing
Update: I've tried testing it with the most bare bones mod setup possible (literally nothing except SS2 and requirements) And I still do not have the HUD

So, I figured mine out after messing with the DEF_UI crosshair.

Turns out I simply had to turn the Crosshair on in the Display Menu of the game.

Now the resources GUI is directly in the middle of the screen and I don't think that can be moved until MCM gets updated.

But...progress!

I ended up loading the Workshop Framework Script Override (optional download on Workshop Framework's Nexus page) and loading that last in my load order. Now the SS2 HUD panels show up as expected.

The number 1 reason for the HUD elements not showing for ultrawide users is they are being drawn off screen. You need to reposition them either using MCM hotkeys or the chem option in the holotape.

I was able to solve my issue using Fallrim tools to clean my save, there's a post with instructions somewhere but I can't find the link to it at the moment
You should never edit a FO4 save file with Fallrim Tool's Resaver. It was never fully ported to support FO4 and there is stuff that still hasn't been RE'd. Think of it more as a diagnostic tool.

This was not the case for me. If I used MCM to set hotkeys to cycle through the HUD controls (so I could move them), it would show them on the screen. But once I was out of edit they didn't show... or at least not consistently. Sometimes the left side panel (summary) would show, but rarely the right side panel (resources). I did all the things with setting them to Always Show, set a hotkey to show them, make sure that crosshairs are on and not scaled.

Once I added the mod I mentioned, the panels immediately show up as soon as I enter a settlement.

I take it back... it was working last night, but now today neither left or right side panel display even when I hit the hotkey to force them or open the workshop.

Edit: Might be related to script load. Both settlements I couldn't get the HUD panels to display were Sanctuary and Red Rocket (in close proximity). In Sanctuary even the AR info wasn't showing on plots. Fast traveled to Oberland Station, which I haven't bothered to build after acquiring it. The panels showed up right away. So just too much going on in the triangle of death?

Might be related to script load.
A good simple test is use the Vit-o-matic. If it takes more than a second for the results to display, the script engine is busy. Wait a few minutes to let the engine catch up.
I have had times where the HUD either refused to load or refused to update. This seems to be due to the way HUD Framework "hacks" into the game engine combined with game engine limitations. Most likely this is caused by "script lag". Once the lag is resolved, allowing the settlement to unload then returning fixes the issue. edit: "usually"
