Question Making Patrols "Disappear"

I can repeatedly and reliably make my patrollers "disappear" from my game.

When I use the town meeting gavel to summon all setters, it works as expected. They all gather around.

Then, I use the Back to work! feature of the gavel. Everything seems fine, I watch a Patrol walk across the settlement towards me:

and then she goes poof right before my eyes. This is taken a split second after the above:

(Reversing the order and using Back to work! then Gather all settlers, seems to immediately make the disappear. And by disappear, I mean, poof, gone. Like they were never there. Population goes down, no death penalty, just gone.

I've repeated this a number of times now reliably "disappearing" the patrols.

Anyone else up for trying to confirm?

Yeah that happens to me too they dissapear and i cant move then beacuse they are like disabled this happens to me when sending a guard to another settlement or with the patrols too

I never observed this happening the way you describe it, but after reading your post I went back into my game and checked in on my patrols (luckily I wrote down their IDs before I assigned them...):

Of the 4 patrols I set up out of Starlight (my HQ), where I have been using the town meeting gavel a lot, only 1 is doing fine (I can console moveto him, and he is actually there), 3 are gone (if I try to console moveto them, I end up in empty locations).

All 4 patrols I assigned out of Zimonja (an outpost) are ok. It's very probable I've never used the town meeting gavel there, but I'm not completely sure.

There is one interesting difference:
When I prid-select them in he console, the "healthy"/working patrol is shown as
'Raider Savage' (ref_id) [PP] in the console,
whilst the "poofed" patrols are shown as
'Raider Savage' (ref_id) [D][PP][T].

I have tried to google what the additional suffixes [D] and [T] actually mean but the results are inconclusive. [T] might be a temporary flag, and [D] might be the disabled flag, but I'm not sure.

The command "enable" doesn't seem to do anything. But "resurrect" actually works, so [D] might really mean "dead"...

This is all I can do with my limited knowledge, I still hope this helps the gurus to track down this issue.

All this is with 4.1.0b. Will test again with 4.1.1 later...

To double check if this is actually related to the town meeting gavel, I went to Zimonja where I have 4 working patrols, and used the gavel a couple of times as described by @bullyrook , and it DID glitch out my patrols.

Again, all this is with 4.1.0b and might already be fixed. Time to roll back and check out the patch!

I have updated everything to 4.1.1. Using the town gavel to summon all settlers and then using the back to work feature still makes my patrols "disappear". I doubled checked to make sure they aren't being moved to their destination settlement and they aren't. They just go poof, gone, like they never existed, as far as I can tell.

I also updated to 4.1.1 in the meantime (and rolled back to the save file before the tests I described above) and found that my patrols are exactly in the same state as before. So just updating the mods did not change anything about the status quo of existing working and glitched patrols. I have yet to set up new patrols with 4.1.1 to check if this changes anything.

One additional new finding: the glitched patrols still count towards the number of inbound patrols in that particular vassals report. So they are not completely "gone", it seems, just in a weird state.
If they also are calculated towards the control value in that vassal I can't say because I don't know the numbers.

Can anyone tell me how much control a Raider Legend guard stationed in a vassal actually provides? I believe this should be a fixed value, in contrast to patrols, whose control contribution value changes with the number of warriors in their "home" outpost, afaik.

I went ahead and repeated above test with 4.1.1, to the same result. Using the town meeting gavel in an outpost, out of which I have patrols set up, glitches patrols into this weird invisible/semi-working state. Not all the time, but some of them reliably.

In this glitched state patrols get the additional suffixes/flags [D] and [T] when prid-selected in the console, and in game they're invisible and seem to have stopped to move around. They still (mostly) get counted in the new reports, though, and might even be counted towards the control calculation (this last part I've still to test out).
