Jake <3

I'm about half way through the chapter 1 quest line and he's a fantastic character. I echo the compliments to the team that created him. Very well done.

Would also be a fan of having him as a companion. Romance? Could be, he's funny, nice, and has a great voice, all my checkmarks checked. But even a companion would be nice.
I'll stay spoiler free and say no. And let's talk in a private environment when you're ready to talk spoilers.

I don't mind spoilers. :) I'm not finished with this mod yet so I think I'll wait till I get to the end of the 1st chapter, but you'll have to tell me how to do a private environment, wouild that just be at the top where it says inbox?

Not gonna lie, I'm personally invested in this mod and the wait for Chapter 2 of the story specifically because of Jake.

Also this continues the trend of me knowing a lot of people and characters named Jake and keeping them all sorted is becoming a minor trial of mental acuity.

Well, from Chapter One, we learn that he has an ex-wife who ran away with their daughter, so he might not be looking to romance anybody at the moment. Though, who knows how the story might progress from here?

As a character he has qualities, but he acts like a used car salesman with those ASAMs, and that can get annoying, especially on repeat runs through the chapter. I'm sure he has some motivation for wanting to push them so heavily, but it's not given in the first chapter. In some ways, he's a worse Preston Garvey, in that he's so over-the-top. I mean on one hand you've got guys like Hancock and MacCready, who are all about their personal freedom and sticking it to The Man and all that, and then you get into duty and honor with Valentine and Danse... and then there's Preston Garvey. Set aside the endless fetch quests, and he's just this overly good guy. And there's nothing wrong with how he just exudes goodness and his charming personality, but it rings hollow in the Commonwealth, especially given what he's seen. I admire his optimism, I just don't believe it. Of course, we have his complete story. Bethesda isn't saying there's some additional part of his story coming in a future update. It's done. Jake on the other hand, there's a lot more story to tell, but so far, he is Preston Garvey times at least 1.2 or 1.3, peaking at about triple when he's initially pitching the ASAMs (his "bad theatrics" as he calls it).

Having him as a companion does not make sense given the ending of Chapter One (no, he doesn't die ←minor spoiler that might put your mind at ease), but after later chapters, it might make more sense to have him as a companion.

He is a creepy guy, first he wants you to use that gizmo disc thing and before you know it you are depending on them and in the mean time you can do his dirty work. I am sure that at the end of it all he wants to take over the world and be its leader. But I'll stop him when he handed over all his gizmo devices and everything runs fine and I know how to work/manage/develop/repair and build them .. then .. then .. I sell him to Martians....they must be out there somewhere or to anyone that wants to romance him.

Hey, the player character can
romance other people while still looking for their son
, so the precedent is there, right?

It's entirely possible for The Player to be banging someone new less than a week after their beloved spouse died, so... yeah.
We should also keep in mind that
Jake divorced with Katelyn on unfriendly terms, from what I can gather when using the "I love you" option on the part where he told us that Katelyn and the daughter have left suddenly, he told us he called her worse things even!
If anything it's an even better excuse than
our spouse being killed

I haven't finish the quest-line yet, but I am developing a major crush on Jake xD
Am I the only one?
Is he romanceable? (yes/no please no further spoilers)
You are most certainly not the only one. I've talked to several girls who also want this ;)

Hey, Magnolia did nothing wrong. She's just looking for love in a world gone to s—. And the Sole Survivor is the most human, least Ghoulish thing to walk in the door in a long time.
Yeah, nothing but love and respect for the sweetest and most talented flower in the wastes. In a world where Sole is a bit desperate for love and is charismatic enough, she's there for them. :yes3

I don't think Magnolia is looking for actual love. She literally tells you at the end of your date that she doesn't really have time for more and only cares about singing. Jake is wholesome, the type of guy you'd take home to meet the parents.
