Is a self destruct on just one settlement possible?

Is there any way to self-destruct just one settlement's worth of Sim Settlements? I have one that is pretty bugged out due to me being an overachiever in Sanctuary and I'd like to clear it out of all plots and rebuild it entirely from scratch. Scrapall just burps and crashes to desktop and scrapping any scriptable object causes the same CTD.

I think there is an option in the Sim settlement holotape. Just need to be at the settlement then run it I believe. Not at home to verify.

I saw an option to blow everything up but not one to blow up just the one settlement. I am probably just blind.

This is an edge case anyway so I fully expect it not to be there in the holotape but was hoping for a console command that called just the "blow up sanctuary" part of the mod without the outer loop that does it for each settlement.

On second thought, this might be a handy thing to add - run Extreme Makeover, Settlement Edition, select the settlement you want to go bye bye and wait for the settlers to start whining about the lack of beds.

The reason for my thought of being able to do this remotely is if you're in a spot like I am where a settlement is effectively unusable due to game limits, you can remote nuke it to get back under the limit and then go there and rebuild in a more sane manner.

After the next update, there will be a console command for it - but if you're crashing on scrapping anything - this is usually a load order issue. To test, load your game with no mods and see if you can scrap stuff.

If you can, then slowly load up half of your disabled mods at a time and test (so half, then half of the remaining half, etc). Until you find the mod that is causing the crashes. Once you do, try moving it somewhere else in your load order.

Just don't save over your current save when doing this, as all of your plots will be gone. You're literally just looking to find the correct mod order, then go back to your save before you started doing all the tests.

Thanks, I'll have to do some poking at it over the long weekend ahead.

I REALLY want Sanc levelled by the time the new expansion releases so if I've gotta go blow it up manually with disable/markfordelete that's what I'll do. I want to build a showcase settlement out of it that will show off the best that SS has to offer and provide an experimental test bed for new layouts without being space restricted.

I've also got the beginnings of a screenshotty script that will cycle through a given plot type, set it to each level, generate a screenshot and then go on to the next level or plot that I want to beat into submission. The hope is to automate a lot of the drudgework so those taking screenshots can simply stand in the right spot and run the script.

Also what is the console command to blow up one settlement?

The console command is kind of an emergency use only thing - it literally gets rid of EVERYTHING - including the settlers. It will return all the stuff in containers and your workbench to your inventory though. So if you have companions there, I would not use this.

cqf kgsim_cpmanager ForceClearSettlement X Where X is the hex ID of the workshop (you can find those on the Fallout wikia site)

I tried out the command on 000250fe which is apparently the sanctuary workshop but i still have the issue of when approaching near the settlement my game crashes

That means the cell is likely corrupted in your save file. Currently no known fix for that, we're not exactly sure what causes that to happen other than excessive items in the settlement, but once you remove them it should go away.

I have some changes coming in the next patch that might help - not positive, but I wouldn't give up hope yet. Just avoid Sanctuary until next patch and then try again.

Oh and you can confirm if it's a Sim Settlements problem or a save file problem by trying to disable the mod. If disabling the mod and you still have a crash - it's likely a bad save file. Otherwise, it might be something I can fix!
