Interior Plot tips and tricks

Now, these tips and tricks work on all interior plots but in this explanation, I will be using residential plots since many of the non-residential interior plots need the long side open. These are mainly for snapping to foundations and making compact housing areas.

Firstly interior plots DO NOT actually need two foundations to snap to. https://imgur.com/a/fvM2w So if you are using a mod that only uses the area covering a full foundation next to the power box you can make better use of this space. https://imgur.com/a/zREa0 Now with three walls around the one tile next to the power box, you won't be able to place down the interior plot unless you place a small floor piece then remove it after you are done. https://imgur.com/a/icHiZ

Now one tip that can be useful if that you can attack a wall to an interior plot regardless of it being attached to anything else and it will line up perfectly with the power box. https://imgur.com/a/cAYCs this comes in handy when you already have an interior plot down and need to add a wall behind it although it cant be used to fix the walls in sanctuary houses.

Now if you want to make a compact housing area for your settlers that doesn't take up a lot of space you have a few different options depending on the sim settlement add-ons you use.

If you want to build a small shack that makes use of the Interior plots that only makes use of the 1x1 area around the power box this is the more tricky to pull off of the layouts but first you will want to pick your spot and lay down all of the foundations and walls for the base of the structure like so. In this case, I am using a small 3x3 foundation with walls and doors from the vanilla wood set but any set should work except concrete those walls are just funky. https://imgur.com/a/KZStA Once done move or store the doors and foundations they are connected to in the workshop. https://imgur.com/a/pnfTl After that use the remaining center foundation to help you place in your interior walls however you want then remove it. https://imgur.com/a/sjWXm At this point you can start place in the interior plots but you will only want to do one side using the method in the first tip up above. I find using two of the half floors from the warehouse set work best since as you place them you can then move them to the next spot you need them fairly easily. https://imgur.com/a/CUhTg Once done with the first side remove the two half floors or whatever you used then place down a foundation on the end of the last plot you placed and put in the plot on that end. https://imgur.com/a/Z1bQy for the next section you won't be able to use a full foundation or floor piece you will need to use 4 of the small quarter sections to fill in the middle area and then place down the plot as before. https://imgur.com/a/fbcy0 For the final plot place down the last foundation and the plot throw your doors back on set your plots to the Mini plot type of your choice and voila you have a small barracks that can house 6. https://imgur.com/a/fAEyv rinse and repeat for as many floors as you want or just throw on a roof and call it done. For just one floor you can place a power connection right in the middle on the top and it should reach every plot for multiple floors just put the connection on opposite corners between each level of the floor.

Here are some screenshots of other things you can do to place down plots how you want them as well but most are some form of what I just showed. If you need an explanation on any of them let me know and I will add one in. https://imgur.com/a/uCz6j

It is not really meant to be solved or replied to unless someone has questions about it it is just some tips I threw together for people who come across the thread.
