Instant CTD When Nearing Sanctuary

Instant CTD when I walk or fast travel into the sanctuary cell. I've tested every single mod I have installed and SS2 is definitely the issue. I've installed the XDI patch though it still crashes even when it's removed and it's the only listed incompatibility that I have installed afaik. I didn't notice any settlement notifications between leaving and re-entering (I was gone a while and not watching it) and I don't know how to read the bufout4 logs yet, so it's possible a quest/changed plot is causing it.

Here is a pastebin of the buffout4 log

EDIT: I've checked another crash-log instance and it seems to be caused by the same source each time.
EDIT 2: I've also used funclist to check if I can find the ref given by buffout4 but to no avail

What can I try to do to correct this, what steps should I take to try and figure out what the issue is? I have an SS2 quest that involves some super mutants that I could continue with, could that solve my CTD issues?

When I disable SS2, the crashing stops. I can't stop the crashing when I remove any other mod. This save is clean and has no history with previous SS mods. I don't have access to my mod order right now, I will later this afternoon.

my advice disable all SS2 Addons and try again

If you have settlements at Sanctuary/Red rocket and Abernathy you might have killed that save though

Other advice is to install https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/47359 and post the save/load order and crash logs here
That way you will be able to see whats crashing you
I do have buffout4 logs that I thought I had embedded in my post but I think it's broken. I'll try to fix that up when I'm back home.

As for add-ons, I don't have any currently.

Well, sadly, it has to be a conflict with another mod (I mean, if there was a core issue with SS2, tens of thousands would have the exact same issue).

Mod conflicts are very annoying to track down.

What can I try to do to correct this, what steps should I take to try and figure out what the issue is?

I would remove all other mods, put in ss2, make sure you dont' crash.
Then add other mods (maybe in groups) until you find the conflicting mod.

Yeah, a pain, but sometimes the brute force approach is necessary.

If you are using MO2, don't just disable the other mods in the right panel, turn them off in the left hand panel - so they are not even loading their textures and other assets - as some of those could be causing an issue as well.
(I have no idea if this is possible in vortex, my apologies).

best of luck to you.

As an update, I am no longer crashing in Sanctuary. I haven't touched my mod order/ mod list, all I did was travel into concord and finish the Comms quest.

Not sure if it was the quest or the moving further away that fixed it, but I'm not longer crashing.
