Question Install Conqueror+Framework - black screen, uninstall them - game runs normally

Hi,
I don't have "privilages" to post in the bug forum, so forgive me for posting it here (or move it there if you want).
After installing Conqueror and the workshop framework I can't start up the game, it's just a black screen. However, when I uninstall both of them, the game runs normally. What could be the case here? I have SS and all other expansions too and they work.

the most obvious observation is that the game could still be loading up - the more mods you have installed the longer the load time will be.
some questions that can help people to help you along;

1. are you starting a new game or have you installed in an existing game?
2. if its a new game - how many other mods have you got installed?
3. are you 100% certain that the mods are all installed correctly?
4. what mod manager are you using?

lets go from there and see what comes out in the wash

You suggested that it may still be loading. However, I use SSD and have this game on that drive, so waiting 2-3 minutes seems to be enough for me, isn't it? Taking into consideration that I've got 27 other mods and the game loads in a couple of seconds.

1. that's an existing save
2. 27
3. I use Vortex - although I can't vouch for it, I made sure to follow the procedure (check for masters, deploy, install etc.)
4. Vortex

ssd is irrelevant because the game engine is your throttle.

what happens if you start a new game, but with the following caveats;

1. start a new game with no mods except sim settlements/conqueror/workshop framework and if you have it UFO4P active. every other mod disabled.

can you get the game to start at that point?

so what that's proved is that the mods are installed correctly which is the most crucial bit.
in terms of starting conqueror in an existing game - i don't know if that's going to work out too well for you - it's designed to be run from a new game.
i think your issue with the black screen is simply the game engine trying to get the mods loaded up. you could leave it for a while - but i dont know if it will ever work.
if you're determined then the only solution available to you is to load it up and wait out the black screen and see what comes out - but be prepared for either no response, or a broken game.....
i'd start a new game fresh and leave your existing one alone personally.

Another possibility, if you ever use AAF animations, the black screen is simply hiding a popup requiring a "hit Enter key" ... like an OK... waiting for a bit... nothing changes, just hit enter and listen for the typical click... may just be a bug-a-boo...

Also, when I make my pre-builds on a fresh game, build time is anywhere between 30mins to 2.5hrs, depending on #ofSettlements and the starting level... all settlements at Level 3 with full people is slow... even on my SSD...

If it works on an existing game and taking awhile, I would personally go to an interior cell like home plate and do it there, not in the worldspace.
