If I only have one radio operator can I place multiple beacons?

I only have a single operator right now, at the drive-in. Do I have to wait for the first beacon haul to be delivered before I set another or can I set as many as I need to? If the latter, do they just run concurrently or do they queue up and a team will only be dispatched to the second beacon once the first beacon has been delivered?

In my experience a new team is generated for every salvage beacon - having multiple comm officers throughout the Commonwealth speeds up how fast the beacon is returned based on the trip length, but in theory I think you could carry 35 beacons and have one station. I usually stick with 5 just because it makes dropping a single beacon easier.

As a (slightly immersion breaking) aside, even after the team has 'picked up' the cache and is heading back, you can still drop stuff into the container up until they actually deliver it.

That's interesting, I'll have to try testing that and see if it works. Seems only slightly useful, but still useful; especially for larger area gathering expeditions. Of course, to me, the whole idea of using SS and these other mods in conjunction is to reduce the amount of time and effort you put into the Settlements - and subsequently gathering scrap supplies - so you can focus on actually doing the quests and exploring the narrative.

For some reason I seem to have hit a limit on the number of concurrent beacons, though I'm not sure if it's because I only have two stations.

My understanding of how the beacons work is that the salvage teams are dispatched from the closest settlement with a comm station but that they can haul the salvage to any settlement.

So if you only have 1 comm station in Sanctuary and you drop a beacon down by Quincy you can actually send the stuff to say Warwick. The mod then creates the team, they walk from Sanctuary to Quincy to Warwick and the stuff is delivered.

The obvious advantage to multiple stations is that you can have the team sent from a closer settlement so the material should show up sooner.

As far as I know there is no hard limit to how many beacons you can have out but each one is going to be sucking up scripting resources which could lead to eventual crashes or save corruption.
