I don't suppose a stealth character is doable in conqueror

I wouldn't say that, but you have to move quickly. I've used stealth to start a lot of the assaults. It can give you a real tactical advantage by letting you sneak into the settlement before the fighting starts so you're taking out the guards and turrets and such from the inside, which is a lot easier. You just don't want to meet up with your warriors before the assault starts. All the time I've stealthboyed into a settlement, picked a good area with lots of cover, and then started sniping people. Once you fire the first shot, your warriors will either come or spawn near you, so the stealth is out the window at that point, but having good stealth can be pretty decisive. If you're good with explosive, even better because you can sneak in and throw a bunch of grenades or lay mines.

think you have to list out your expectations.
SS-C is set up to conquer/invade as a squad. unless you config/script your faction to be snipers and/or OP syringer troops, not sure how settlement takeovers can be done stealthily as a group.

that said, i was able to trim down a 'deadly raiders of the commonwealth' infested Corvega plant bit by bit with 6-crank laser musket armed personal guards (PGs). i'd shoot a raider from afar with a 50 cal hunting rifle. other nearby raiders would be provoked to 'caution' but without disturbing the whole hive. some would return to normal while we hid. others would approach and then the PGs would shoot them dead without alerting everyone else. their kidnapped vertibird didn't even leave the ground. haven't been able to replicate that with SS-C settlement takeovers
