Given that 4.0 no longer requires a settlement leader, is there any reason the sim settlement system can't be leveraged to allow plans for home plate and similar pseudo-settlements to be activated in the same way. Admittedly a bit redundant given the blueprint system exists, but it also would add a bit more aspects of randomization to the options. Perhaps you could set it to allow internal plots or something similar as if they were being worked.

Another thought would be the option of 'converting' an unpopulated settlement to something like home plate for personal use, Red Rocket and Hangman's Alley being nice options for a home base.u

I think you are onto something here. Among other things, you could build any kind of structure, and have a couple resident settlers there to keep the place tidy. Adding a mini IDEK station so you don't need to fed-ex shipments yourself would be a bonus.

Honestly, this is less about home plate than the other places I wish were setup like home plate - The Railroad HQ, the Safehouse, your room in Vault 81 (Or 88. The one with Curie obviously), a few other places like that that seem suitable to benefit from that interface without being settlements proper. The Grill in Nuka world is another good example that could benefit from having a homeplate style workbench combined with and such with the ability to plant a desk and got to it.

I honestly can't decide if doing so I would want 'supply lines' automagically added; It would be vastly convenient, but it is also a bit immersion breaking, and in combination with IDEK's LS station it's hardly required.

But just being able to utilize the autobuild function to set it up the way you want it would be cool.

I don't think it's immersion breaking at all considering that IRL we can order almost anything over the internet and have it delivered wherever we specify.

There are a variety of mods on the nexus that turn them into buildable homes. If you were looking for proper settlements with city plans, I've already linked them in this thread.

I note for the record, this isn't about wanting stuff setup as a settlement per se. I like not having everyplace have company (and home plate seems a bit crowded for five settlers imo. If I had an option I would setup these places so only companions could stay there and leave, like, Codsworth at homeplate, Danse at the Mechanist lair ... and that might be it (Deacon always gets assigned to lead Mercer Safehouse though, but of course, that's a settlement). Typically I don't even let anyone but companions into the Mechanist lair; Combined with https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23294. And yes, I build little rooms for companions there too.

I do not play house with dolls! They're Action Figures!

ACTION FIGURES!

The 'order off the internet' spawns a thought though - make the ham radio constructable (or add one to the desk when you're in a 'home'), and when it's on add the home to the settlement supply lines, turn it off to toggle off supply line.

Yeah I got that - I was just thinking the same functionality that does city plans could do home plans too without changing much. Sure, it's like shooting a cockroach with a missile launcher, but hey, this is a game where you can actually do that!
