Get rid of virtual ressources

Hello,

In my current playthrough I ran into the issue of having too much of one ressource while having not enough of other ressources. I tried to fix it by changing plots and buildings around but it didn't really go so well. My biggest issue that I have 30k wood and a total of 70k ressource space. The issue arose since I ran out of wood early and my settlements wouldn't upgrade because the lack of wood. So I went ahead and build quite a few wood gathering industry plots. Fast forward a couple of in-game days of me not really checking in on the settlements and now there's more wood than during a porno shoot. How do I get rid of the wood to make space for other ressources? I build some conversion plots for wood -> fertiziler but after looking at the numbers it will never normalize in a way that I have a similar amount of all the building ressources.
I looked up a mod. It basicially let's you dumb ressources but I'm more interested in a unmodded way if there is any.

Also, I run into bottlenecks with other ressources especially cork, ceramic, copper, silver and one or two others. There are some industrial plots that collect for example ceramic. Okay, so I build those. But I'm still low on ceramics all the time. So low actually that some of my plots are on strike because I cannot pay the upkeep. (boy... it took a while to have this one figured out tbh). I also found out that you can go to the Caravaner and buy virtual ressources by using the virtual caps. I did that alright but it's fairly expensive so I cannot fill up all the holes in my eco so it's not a long time plan. My questions is whether later in-game (still Ch.1) other specific plots will be available to for example just collect cork or just collect copper? If not why is that?

Well the lumber yard consumes steel and gives you wood and cork - which solves your cork problem but would just give you more wood. There is a ceramics kiln conversion plot - that consumes wood and gives you ceramic. Some conversion plots you'll have to do salvage runs to unlock using the Mark I Beacons.

In general, though, if you are playing on hardcore mode with maintenance costs it is designed to be very difficult to get right and you probably won't have a lot of balance until you have a very large number of settlements. The big solution comes later in game (Chapter 3) when you have access to Trade Agreements. Then you can trade shipments of stuff you have excess resources in for stuff you have less of.
