Fun Idea for a Mod

Settler renaming mod " Whats your name?"
description in spoiler
Description
This mod adds the second activation option "What's Your Name?' to settlers. Using it will assign a random name to them and remove that option. There is also a holotape to disable the option, as usual craftable at the Chem Station under Utilities.

Contains 358 male, 263 female, and 105 unisex names, taken from the list of the names which Codsworth can say. I removed the "funny" names and then looked the rest up on behindthename.com to check whenever it actually exists and for which genders it is possible.

Warning: This *MIGHT* be able to rename settlers who have names already, even though I tried blacklisting most pre-named vanilla settlers. If you have F4SE, it should intercept such an attempt and display a message, but maybe save before you try that.

Requirements
None, although I highly recommend F4SE

Compatibility
This might conflict with mods which add secondary activation options to living settler NPCs, otherwise it shouldn't cause any issues. The most likely incompatibilities would be that you can't rename specific settlers, or get the renaming option for settlers who shouldn't get any, or that the renaming option is hidden by another option. None should be game-breaking.

It is definitely compatible with Sim Settlements and should be compatible with mods which add new Settlers as well. Mods which add secondary options to corpses shouldn't be an issue either, since "What's your name?" is only added to living settlers.

I have no idea what happens if you use that with another renaming mod, but you shouldn't be using two renaming mods at the same time anyway.

This mod is also unable to rename provisioners or "Comm Operators" from Salvage Beacons, even if you get the option. I don't know why. It seems to work if you rename someone first, and then assign them to a supply line, though.
I havent used it but its looks good. I'm fine with Immersive Settlers right now.

Yeah, for now, i'm going with Immersive, but will keep my eye on this one.
It's a concept that've been on my mind since Skyrim release tbh, it would make missions like the Dark Brotherhood, were you have to find and assassinate ppl, a lot more fun and challenging, as you would need to actually pass some speech/charisma check (Skyrim speech for exemple) to discover the person name.
If Beth introduced something like that, they could do so much, and would help to make ppl not go full murder hobos killing everything in sight, just because it's with a "Random NPC" name.

I use it. Like it a lot. In addition to getting names, it helps me keep tabs on who hasn't got a home, when I'm doing the assigning.

Eeew xbox, err, I mean, I have no idea. I heard scripts aren't even possible on consoles or something like that. I don't care for bethesda.net either, so unless someone else uploads it there it's not going to happen.

I was reluctant as well about using bethesda.net, but updating mods there is even easier than Nexus. After you do the initial setup, you just push a couple buttons in the Creation Kit to upload changes to Xbox.

Xbox can absolutely use custom scripts, you just have to make sure all of your mod is packaged in BA2 files (which is good practice anyway).

I pack the stuff as BS2 anyway. It's a nice feature that the editor can do it for you. It would be even better if it was able to update the existing archive, though.

I checked the "I allow other people to upload it to bethnet" now. I'm too lazy to do it myself, and, even more, to take care of it over there.

Okay, so now us XBox users have to hope that some kind soul, with a Beth account, a Nexus account and creation kit will download and then upload.
