At one point in a settlement, I had 4 food plot at lvl 3, producing 12 food each, and another 2 newly established at lvl 1. This should give a total food of 52, and still in WS mode it showed me 19. At that time there were 19 settlers but expecting more to come. Have brought up this in other threads without getting proper answer to what is happening. Do we really need to produce 70+ food to sustain 25-26 settlers?

So the logic is that each settler need 1 food each, and mayors hut demands 2 so that account for 21 so still missing 10. If my food dropped just 1 more, then even while producing 52 food it would show me 18 in WS mode and in the red. This in reality means that a settler with a plot takes 2 food each, yes? What happened to the rest of it?

It becomes difficult to plan a city when food disappears like that. Especially when other plots doesnt claim to cost food to have.

dynamic needs eats it, you just don't see the negative numbers... but if you take a look at the res plots lvl2 and or some commercial you will see a food number and power... those represent the food reserves settlers might need to feel happy... and or richer....

Thanks, that is quite helpfull. To bad we cant see the NPCs get really huge from all the food then ;)

So really then, denamic needs sets like -3 food on lvl 3 + the 1 food inially so that 25 settlers will be looking for 100 food to be really happy? Or isnt it a really fixed number?

You can check the reports tools in the holotape or city desk. There´s one that tells every stat for each type of plot

It's a pseudo-fixed number, various plots can apply negatives to food. If you were just using the base Sim Settlements and everyone had a Residential plot, then each settler needs 3 food total.

Once you start factoring in various add-on packs, advanced industrial, and leader traits - the numbers will be slightly different. For the sake of City Planning - I'd recommend just preparing to have 3 food per settler and the player can sort out any differences caused by those other things with donations and supply lines.

I think a fat-n-happy settlers addon would be awesome.... would be somehow hooked into the donation system... settlers with everything they need plus a full reserve of food donated would start to fatten up! and gear up, with weapons and armor... haha
