Fast Travel Issues

Hey guys kinda new around here and i didnt know if i should post this as i have a lot of mods that might conflict.

I had issues while fast traveling but mostly only when ft to Hangman`s Alley, a simple workaround was to ft to another settlement then to Hangman and this seemed to work ok, but since version 3.1.3a i crash everytime i ft to any settlement the only way is to ft to homeplate in Diamond city than to the specific settlement and this seems to work ok most of the time.

I used scrapeverything only in starlight and sanctuary don`t know if this is important or not.Also i tried removing Rotc and same crashes,only when i fully remove SS i get rid of the crashes.
Any ideeas ? should i go back to the old version(3.1.2)?

Hello.

I have same issues, mostly when traveling from high populated areas. For example my Sanctuary has 25 Settlers or Starlight drive in 19 and when I fast travel somewhere from those settlements I got a standard windows message - game stopped to respond and then I can close it. Doesn't happen if I move somewhere else and then fast travel. This begun to happen with Sim Settlements 3.1.3a. Here is my load order. This also start to happen before latest Fallout patch.

My rig is:

i7-4770K, GTX 1080 ASUS Strix, 16GB RAM, game installed on SSD.

Me too, nearly constant CTD when FT. Haven't tried the diamond city work around yet.

AMD HD 6850 (ya i know it sucks, you work with what you got)

Note: Landing means loaded in and able to move and do things after a fast travel.

118 active plugins
with Sim settlements fast travel CTD a few seconds after i land. i can even hit escape and pause and still get CTD
There are times when even loading into the game will cause CTD after a few seconds of landing in the game.
i think these CTD might be script related because i noticed that if I hit escape when i load in (after opening the game) and wait for a bit then when i un-pause the hud will come up with the sim settlement info and i will not crash.

Without Sim settlements no CTD on ft or load.

currently I am trying to run down a way to save as much of my settlements and still be able to fast travel. I am starting from 30 pop starlight it has a rotc desk but no leader or city plan. I have like 60 plots there. a large warehouse and a few smaller buildings with interior plots. I also have a deconstruct and build factory set up. I have no frame rate issues.
When i load the game i wait like 3-5 minutes for every thing to load (notably the SS hud) then I Fast travel to diamond city market. I will probably spend the next few days trying to figure out some way to keep SS and be able to fast travel.

I will add that i am playing on survival mod with unlimited survival mode mod. I use it for saving (cause with so many mods sleeping to save doesn't cut it), fast travel cause some i just want to drive on auto pilot, and well everything except weightlessness.
i chose the most difficult setting for sim settlements with the wizard. I have all the performance options off. (my first step in trying to stop the CTD).

My next steps.
general mod conflict testing (I hate how long this takes with so many mods).
shut down as much automatic features as possible. if it is a script this should help.
remove the hud
lower settler density to a max of 23/20/15.
destroy all rotc leader controlled towns.
lower count of items in all settlements.

my game is almost to 5d mark and I have spent almost all of that time on settlements.

any ideas or suggestions are welcome. I will report my finding if there is anything to report.

hmmm... just thought.... maybe i should have made a new thread. but this one was exactly what i was looking for.

Update1: disabled everything but Sim Settlers and had to very hard dificulty to FT and still CTD after landing in diamond city market
Update2: changed all settings to off or what ever used the least scripts and still CTD
Update3: used sim settler to nuke all of starlight drive in. I was able to fast travel without ctd after demolition.
Update4:reinstalled all my mods and went back to the save i started all this with. loads fine. going to try and nuke starlight and try again.
Update5: local demolition of plots only allowed successful fast travel.
Update6: Hid mailboxes and sensors and refreshed all 60 of the plots. Also turned the hud off. now i am getting infinite load.
Update7: reloaded the prime save and changed the options again and refreshed plots. no longer had infinity load but now crashes after landing. I am going to try scrapping all residential plots and replacing them with beds. changing the option to allow beds to act as residences. welcome back single barracks for my troops.

As of right now, it seems that most of the city builds are too complex for a lot of players. We're working on optimized versions, but it takes quite a while to design and test these.

If you're struggling a lot with them, I'd recommend only building a few of the RotC cities and make sure they are spread out. For example, never build Sanctuary and Red Rocket in the same save. The classic Sim Settlements gameplay still works, you don't have to use the City Plans, though I understand that they are a major draw for a new type of playthrough.

I've made some major improvements to the script loads for this weekend's 3.1.5 patch, so some of you will find your crashes completely gone after this. Those of you struggling due to complex city designs will have to wait until optimized versions are built before you can fully take advantage of them.

Update8: After removing all 30 interior and exterior residential plots and replacing them with beds i was able to fast travel without error.

Conclusion: I was suffering from clutter bug. too much stuff at my settlement. If you are having issues with ctd try replacing residential plots with beds.
 
You can also turn off clutter in the Performance Options of the holotape which will greatly reduce the number of items the plots create.
 
I have also been suffering from clutter bugging. My game would crash, lag, drop in fps, and just over all performance. I only had sanctuary set at the time to be affected by SS and RoTC. When I went through the whole process of uninstalling these mods, which really upset me to have to do, the game instantly improved in all aspects of performance. I believe it to be that consoles just don't have the power to handle so much in any give place. I believe this to be due to the "out-dated" hardware in which both XB1 and PS4 are equipped with. A HDD locked into the low performance levels they are hardwired with are just not capable of the quality in which they should have. Once an optimized version for consoles is released hopefully this will improve the quality for us. And hopefully in the not to distant future consoles will finally be granted built in SSD's rather than cheap HDD, as well as not being locked into 30 FPS settings.

There are others who are working on minimized plots.
