Duplicating Items - Possible Bug

I thought I would bring up an observation I made while playing with SS2. Plots are duplicating items (you can see it most with beds because you have a bed count at the top of the screen). It seems that this is happening mostly with the old SS1 plots that were converted but that could just be coincidence.

Is anyone else noticing that this issue seems to be mostly with the converted SS1 plots? Refreshing the plot doesn't always work to get rid of the duplicated item, any ideas there besides trying to figure out which item to scrap?

It is known, we were trying to narrow it down a bit the other day. Seems to only be Interior Plots doing it to me personally, not just Residentials though.

I have an example of it happening in one of the converted residential SS1 plots. The plot started out with a sleeping bag then upgraded to a bed - but the sleeping bag never de-spawned. That's one of the examples where it wont correct when I refresh the plot.

ehh, I can always use more beds. :wink

What happens is the plot upgrades while you are away and then when you return the settlement something interrupts the refresh from removing the old level.

All plots have the potential to do this thing. The plots that are "immune" are the plot designs that simply add an item at higher levels. Those that take away items and place upgrades are the ones having the issue. People notice it happening with residential because it messes with the bed counts, but it can happen to any plot.

Then you go into build mode and use the Extra Objects option (insert key) for Place Everywhere and remove it.

I have notice duplicating scrap once you set a city plan. Trees, cinder-blocks, metal junk that repopulate after a city is layed down now require two scarappings to clear. This also gives triple the wood and steel and concrete for those settlements which is nice but probably not working as intended,

I've also had a few housing plots (single home) build to level 1 with the wrong bed count. Some plots deploy a sleeping bag under the scaffolding while the plot is under construction to depict where the person would sleep when realistic build times are enabled. I've had a couple occurrences with that sleeping bag not being removed as the plot finishes construction.

This is because when you scrap a settlement it removes everything currently placed and then places the new plan which can replace items you may have already scrapped. It is thing that can be exploited, but it has to work that way.

What you can do is this:
Store your City Planner desk
Go to the workbench and choose scrap settlement, this should remove everything without placing it into your workshop.
Place the City Planner desk and then select the plan.

Then you go into build mode and use the Extra Objects option (insert key) for Place Everywhere and remove it.
I don't use Place Everywhere - I use the console directly for all my building. Do you know the command that hotkey (insert) is using? Is it disable or is it markfordelete?

Is it possible to do this on xbox as well? I dont see the scrap settlement option

If you have place anywhere, it fights with the buttons oh SS. You need to go in your place anywhere holotape and turn master control to off. Then the options from the workbench will appear. When you want the feature of place anywhere back in front you need to turn it back again.

Alternatively download “raze my settlement”. It’s made by someone on this site so it’s trustworthy to not cause issues.

That must be it, though i dont seem to have that holo tape. Ill give that raze mod a try. Thank you

The holotape for place anywhere should be in your inventory under aid but can still be crafted at a chemistry workstation otherwise.

I thought Place Anywhere was one of them mods not allowed for the XBox because it required the F4SE and the XBox aint allowed to have the F4SE.

Not sure why you aint using the manage options on Workshop Framework that are on the workbench.

Place anywhere (not everywhere) is on Xbox and works well.

And I’m using raze my settlement because some settlements I don’t want to raise everything but it has a feature to also pick up everything and then I can scrap what I want and keep what I want.
