Containers specified to keep only designated virtual resources.

examples:
Uranium : toxic barrels
Oil : metal barrels
Cloth or leather : rolls with fabric
Bones : super mutants pile
Gold or silver : safe
Screws : toolbox
Ceramics : display cabinet filled with plates and cups
Glass : display cabinet filled with bottles
And etc.

These are interesting ideas.
You can make a junk plot with all these items or even make your own storage items.
I don't know if there is a way to create storage for specific resources.

I don't think so. IIRC, the virtual storage is a single variable for all resource types. To make a container for each resource would require the entire storage code to be re-written.

I came with this idea cos certain resources stay on zero when you fill your storage. Its sucks when you need to upgrade buildings. Maybe system pays running cost from overflow(not always I keep finding settlements where I need to pay manually even my resource production is in the plus), but it not when you need to upgrade something.

This is an issue that's been on the radar for a while - see my earlier suggestion from May here: https://simsettlements.com/site/ind...t-specific-resource-storage-containers.18397/

The recent changes to allow for daily production are a big step in the right direction in that it resolves much of the daily-upkeep issues, but you're correct in that it doesn't allow for stockpiling sufficient to support settlement upgrades. I'm going to cross-link this into the original suggestion and see if we can get attention back onto the issue.
