Constructed Items at weird angels?

I'm getting more and more weirdly angled items in various settlements. It's getting really weird, and I have absolutely no idea what causes this or how to fix it.

I suspect secret zetan technology...

*edit* I did a city-plan refresh in an especially bad case of zetan-positioning. And it seems to actually have solved a lot of these weirdnesses. It'll take a while for all settlements to get the treatment. I'll see if this is solving things.

I'm also having the same issue since 3.3.0.
I thought it was something to do with Clean and Simple, but after a day of shuffling load order around, I'm still seeing the issue.

Are you on the latest patch 3.3.0?
Does it happen on the CP upgrade or just on random visits?
 
Honestly I'm not sure. Some cities (Egret Tours Marina) are hosed on construction. Other times (Red Rocket) there are items that are off after an upgrade to the city. Seems like it may have something to do with ground-floor stuff, like the mod isn't able to get position correctly.

I've tried to rebuild the city via the desk, and sometimes it sorts it out (red rocket seems fine now), sometimes it doesn't, and other times like the farm I'm currently at crashes the game when I attempt to rebuild.

Its possible that something in the update has introduced a new incompatibility with one of my mods, or one of the sim settlement addons.

Updated with some screenies. You can see what a jumbled mess it gets to be :(
I'm thinking the only way to fix this settlement is going to be remotely blowing it up, but I am not sure I can do that without screwing up other settlements.
 
Ugh just witnessed it screwing up on an (upgrade?). At covenant, responded to raid, and when i get there everything is fine, after the raid I'm looking around and watch a roof that was fine disappear and get replaced by a piece that was tilted oddly.

This problem has been reported since a few patches before 3.3.0, so it's not the plot-swapping code. I'm starting to suspect it's an issue with the core game, most likely started after a game patch as when the reports of this started cropping up, I hadn't done a patch at that time.

Until someone can find a way for me to replicate this, I have no way to fix it. :(

I just replicated your bug.
Were you in an interior cell when the upgrade triggered?
 
Also, since the update, I've started to suspect this mod as being the culprit on another issue -- Sometimes I will be in a building, go to the entrance/exit of the building, and there will be a ton of crap in the door preventing me from leaving.

I have been getting "Recalculating build limit" messages when in interior cells, which is why I suspect this mod is what is placing all the clutter at doors.

Yeah, that's definitely related to this issue.

I would recommend changing City Upgrades to Manual, and make sure you stay in the settlement while it builds or upgrades.

Something is breaking the placement object which is used to determine where the item should go and causing the items to be placed in the cell you're in instead of the settlement.
 
Interesting. I was returning to report of several successes with "rebuild city" at the desks and then not-moving-at-all-until-it's done. I will try to set city upgrades to manual... tomorrow... after work... maybe (got myself a 'princesschill' now, to stick to the naming convention. So my gametime is somewhat limited. ^^).
 
Have been having the exact same issue. Have to refresh the city every new level to fix all the wonky angled objects. Once fixed this way the items stay put and only new objects will spawn with weird angles.

I can also report that I have experienced the "Recalculating build limit" message quite often, while being nowhere near a settlement.

@Devs Do you have enough information for the issue, or do you need me to do anything specific?
 
I would also like to chime in. I am getting the same things with odd angles and walls in the wrong place. Also, I am having all kinds of things appear inside interior cells upon entry. I am running Better Console, and according to that all objects being placed inside the interior cell are from Sim Settlements. There seems to be no specific type of item, its everything from buckets to walls to navmesh that is showing up. I can provide a load order when I get home and I am open to testing or trying anything that may help.

EDIT: I suppose I should also mention that this is on a new game with 3.0.3 3-in-1 installed from the start.
 
Is there an issue tracker for Sim Settlements that I'm not finding? TBH I find vanilla settlements to be a bit of a PITA to manage and this script was abso-f'n-lutely great for taking tedium out of that system, while adding some flavor to settlements that makes them less boring.
I've pretty much put my FO4 stuff on hold until I see some progress on blowing this bug's head off. I got trapped in a building with a deathclaw yesterday and died because I couldn't leave -- I'm trying desperately to not console my way through a survival game :D

(I will however be happy to assist in finding and eradicating the bug(s), so if devs need any data, please let me know)
