Console command to alter the Virtual Storage quantaties?

Hi, ever since the last couple of patches, my Minutemen playthrough has had problems with production.

Been trying to track down the problem, but with little success. It wasn't this way until the latest patches.

Anyway, the problem is the machine parts. I have too many of them. I think it's the blasted factory in Red Rocket Truck Stop. Though, enough on that. I'm wondering if there's a console command to reduce machine parts down, and while I'm at it, increase

Not the best solution, but something to use while these UI/Resource problems sort themselves out.

If you have the latest hotfix, it is possible that you now have a more accurate idea of what is going on, as that fixed a number of HUD issues. However, there have been known issues to do with maintenance not going away when objects are removed. These issue's are hopefully on their way to also being fixed and I think KingGath has said he plans to release a tool in the next patch to recalculate costs in each settlement. Then you will at least know if the daily change numbers are accurate (this is just my understanding - I'm not on the dev team).
If you have a factory producing too many machine parts, couldn't you just replace that factory with one that produces building materials or organic materials? That is kind of how it's supposed to work isn't it?

The console command listed in post 12 on that thread will work. It is the same command used when the daily update occurs, so it will update the HUD etc as well. Since you are only using the Categories option, you can pick any machine part to modify and it will affect that overall total (make sure you put in a negative number to remove the amount). However, if you later change to complex resources, you may have a large negative value for a resource (which could could always fix with the same console command). There is a function that is supposed to redistribute resources when you change categories, but I'm not sure if it is currently working (it hasn't in my testing).
I've also asked KingGath if he would mind if I made a small mod that made it easy to toss out excess resources (which basically calls the same function, but with a menu of the resources). I'm waiting to hear back from him.
I still suggest waiting until at least the next patch comes out and using any official tools that come with it before doing anything else. I think it's supposed to be at the end of this week?
