I love how the City plans look and all the objects that are beeing paced and the whole upgrading process.
But If you use a City plan you loose out on the SimCity managment aspect since a City plan comes with pre placed Plots.
I would like to have the Option to disable all automatic plot placement in City Plans - i would like to do this myself so i get a beautiful City and the managment aspect.

It would also enable the player to incoperate Advanced Industrial plots into the City.

You can change a plots type via the asam. Eg turn a residential into an industrial or a commercial into a martial. That might give you the flexibility you're looking for.

Well that works kind of but its not realy satisfying.
First of you have to find all plots manualy which can be quite hard since the Citys are relativly big.
Secondly it takes the creative choice away of were i place the plots since its preplaced.
And last but not least you cant replace normal plots with advanced industrial plots.(Because of big facotry buildings and giant plole they will not fit in a normal industrial plot in most citys)

I Just found a Workaround! The City Planers Desk has the option to configure the Building Plans(Plot plans) used in the City. You can remove all Plot plans from all Plot Types and no more Plots will be automaticly Build!

Ok I just Tested the idea but sadly this also does not work The City Plan does not care about your Building Plan configuration and will just place down plots anyway so i am back were i started

Of course the main way to achieve this would be to build the cities yourself. Or let a city plan build and delete and replace the bits you don't like. If you really want the choice of where plots are placed you'd really need to do one of those.
I'm not sure where you're coming from with thinking Advanced Industrial plots are bigger than normal ones. They generally stay within the 2x2 plots and all the exterior plots have a power poles (and there are some really large industrial plots, especially if you have any of UitUit's addons). Unless you are wanting to replace interior industrial plots with advanced, which wont work and you'd need to rework the city build to fit.

Ok Restricting building plans will not stop the automatic placement of plots BUT the plots will never complete their builing process which is sadly the worst of both worlds. Soo restricting building plans is not helpful.

This means my inital sugestion is still valide. A option in the holotape to stop Cityplans from automaticly placing plots.
