Is there a way to allow for naming the "citizens" if you are using the "What's Your Name (WYN)" or other NPC naming Mod? I use the WYN and it works fine for the rest of the game, but if I try to rename one of the Conqueror NPCs named Citizen it says I already know their name.

Have you tried Rename Anything? The downside is you'd have to choose what to name them rather than having a script do it for you, but in theory, it should work. I use it, and I'll give it a try next time I run into a citizen and see if it works.

Yes, I have tried renaming with the What's Your Name mod by Pra. It works with vanilla and DLC but not with the "civilians" (I wrote citizen in my original post, it should be civilians). When I try to name civilians the message says "You already know their name". I have the rename and rerename selected but get the same message. It isn't a game-breaker but it would be a little more immersive if you could "learn" their names rather than have them all be generic civilians. Usually with What's Your Name they appear as "stranger" but, that may be from another mod called People are Strangers by Sagittarius22 where everyone appears as a stranger until after your first encounter with them. Conqueror makes them Civilian on meeting but their name won't change.

Oh, right. I completely forgot that... I'll put them on the whitelist.

In the meantime, you could turn of the F4SE failsafe in the settings. I can't remember how exactly I called the option, but it should be there.
