I think it would be neat to have the checkpoints which are normally occupied by the Minutemen when doing the main quest to be manned by the Faction the player is playing with.
in the base game, there is a random encounter where some farmers are being told by raiders that they need to pay 500 caps to cross a bridge and go home, when you approach you can either try to negotiate or enter into a firefight, so this idea marries to that random encounter quite well.
Yeah, agreed with this. Thing is, the 'checkpoint' system is triggered after completion of the main quest: either 'Nuclear Family', or 'The Nuclear Option'.
Of course, maybe this could become a thing as the conqueror system becomes more defined--I thought KG said something about main quest integration. So it's a possibility we might see checkpoints as a thing in the future.
Checkpoints and/or watchtowers ... would be great. Wish factions waged back and forth battles for them (attack-counter-attack). Minutemen watchtowers* is one of my fav mods, but it’s OP because it goes from abandoned to permanent Minutemen safe haven.
would be cool if you could command a few of your guys to go collect tolls or loot pillage and rob, even if you didn't see them and just opened a option to send a few guys from the war desk off to make me some money, they leave town a while and come back with some caps, items, or scrap.
