Obviously, with something this huge happening, you all are going to have a lot of questions about how this will impact Sim Settlements. So tomorrow's usual Let's Play stream will be replaced with a long-form Q&A so we can discuss all the details!
Congratulations! So happy for you and the team! Fallout is the game that changed gaming for me and it holds a very special spot for sentimental reasons. It's the game I always come back to. I have always looked for mods to change up the experience and I remember coming across the original Sim Settlements not long after it was released. Then I joined the forum. As an Xbox player, a lot of assistance was needed (and probably still is ), and the team was always amazing at helping.

As awesome as SS was, SS2 has been on a completely other level when it comes to mods. I can count on one hand the games I've played where I have been so invested in the story and felt so strongly about the characters. As much as I have always loved Fallout, SS2 forever changed the game for me for the better. I have felt so proud to be a part of your journey from the beginning and can't wait to see what else you all have in store!

So when in one of the videos ya said ya dont want to muddy fallout mods with money, does this mean no fallout paid mods ever even if this new system for skyrim comes over to fallout 4, and if so why? Also will there be free stuff for skyrim from you and the team in the future or will it all be paid? Also are you concerned that this new system will lead to nexus mods struggling and the process of making a big modlist costing hundreds if not thousands of dollars for users, and if yes or no why? Also, how much control does bethesda have over you and the team in terms of decision making, if any?

Im not asking any of this to try and hate on you and the team or call you sellouts, but I do have concerns. And of course I wish you and the team the best of luck and hope all your future projects do well.
I think I answered your concerns on stream yesterday, but for anyone else reading.

1. RE: Fallout 4, I like not having the pressure of "Should we enhance SS2 or save it for paid" - that will make it less fun to mod for FO4. I just want to put all our coolest ideas into enhancing the game, and not worry about how to package things. Will ensure modding FO4 feels like a hobby forever.

2. Skyrim will almost certainly be paid stuff only - in the short term, it's going to be our primary way to raise money for the team to start making the transition to full time game dev as we are already experts on the tools. We are going to be learning some other toolsets as well, such as Unreal engine so we can expand beyond this and not be at the mercy of a single company/source of income to pay salries.

3. I think Bethesda is only going to let a relatively small number of folks in, and over time the barrier to what people will be willing to buy will raise. For example, if the next round of people who join start doing "cash grabs" - ie. putting up low effort content for too much money - the reputation of the paid content will tank, and only those of use who put care into making great stuff will get sales - since people will learn to ignore the random uploads.

Also, Bethesda won't allow selling existing content. Everything has to be new.

4. They have no control over us - other than they could terminate our relationship and prevent us from selling on the store (we'd have to be pretty awful people to have that happen - but still, we're going to be sure we have income from other places in the long run in case something like that ever happened).

I just want Bethesda to adopt SS2 as cannon, and support its expansion forever!
Me too, but like kinggath said, with the creative freedom it deserves. I want bethesda to say "Here you go, keep our game alive like you have been." while handing over a FAT check (startup worthy) with no contract or anyone to answer to.

Is there a place for tech support questions for East Empire Expansion yet?

I just re-installed Skyrim after six years, and may have modded it wrong. The wee outpost is outside of Whiterun, but nobody is there. I've already cleared two dungeons and haven't seen the new NPC. I'm torn between continuing to try, or starting a new game and hoping the code behaves this time.

I just cleared a third, and was still not greeted by a friendly Khajit :(

There are some reviews popping up on YouTube which mention EEE!

Guys go make yourselves busy in the comments. <3 Early support makes a world of difference.

(especially where people use mod reviews as a platform to complain about paid mods in general). So get out there and spread some love.

I want more mods that add heart-n-soul to these games (not just items). And I think supporting this new creation partnership thing bethesda are trying is a good way to help modders to create them.

I bought EEE last night. It cost less than a sandwich.

There should be a link to their discord there. They have a support/bug-reports area that may be able to help.

As the title of the video says, this represents the start of a 10 year plan for me - and I hope you'll all join me for the ride!

(Oh and bug fix patch for SS2 coming Friday!)

Just saw the video, looks epic already, your journey is just the start, only thing you probably could add or create in Skyrim, is little bit like Kingdom Come, where you own a castle, like a example, Your a dragonborne lost, lost your family, and need to save your Kingdom, then you discovered your child is still alive, captured by a fellow dragonborne raged by Darkness, just a example and would be a good end of game story some sort of a epilogue ( got a lot of imagination xD )

I only yesterday discovered this post. Congratulations on becoming a professional game developer. It has to be a dream come true for you and the members of your team who are in this with you. Getting paid to do what you love is the best occupation. I realize Starfield is not in your current contract with Bethesda, but Starfield could certainly use some passion. Our loss short term may be our gain long term. :bye
