An invisible Tina Deluca and other fun

Greetings Sim Settlers,
just when my game is running smooth I throw another spanner in the works.
I had onyxnightmare's blueprint for The Mechanist's Lair installed and imported.
a few days later I decided I preferred the ROTC city plan for it and dropped a city planners desk, selected the city plan and assigned Ada as leader.
i waited until the city manager had torn down the old settlement and the settlers had started building their homes and businesses before I saved my game.
now i think I should have waited longer. when I load that save, the game crashes.
i am currently working from a previous save and adding mods as I go.
the save with no mods was funny. as soon as it loaded I got the " where do you want your dismissed follower to go? " screen for Tina Deluca!
I've never had her as a follower. weird.
has anyone any advice? how long should i wait after commencing a new build before saving/leaving?

About Tina Deluca. This isn’t a menu that appears only with companions. Pretty sure I got the same menu when I recruited the Vault Tec Salesman in goodneighbor and met him in Sanctuary to offer him a job. Same when I hired Sheffield after giving him a nuka cola. And since Tina Deluca is a recruitable settler and broken level 4 merchant, I’m guessing you probably had met her but the broken part of the game didn’t allow you to recruit her and now one of the mods fixed that and the game reacted. It’s obviously pure speculation but that’s my best guess.

I didn't know she was anything but a possible settler.
My knowledge of cut content grows daily.
that would explain the weird events.
i am in the middle of rebuilding all my settlements atm.
following a series of crashes I reverted to a clean save.
as I tour the list, I pause in sight of each settlement and use the city manager holotape to remote destroy the left overs. I avoid the huddle of settlers waiting for instruction and quickly drop a city manager desk. i select the city plan and a leader and keep my fingers crossed that the build happens.
i should go on the general forum and tell everyone not to despair if the build fails. just reload and try again. it took me three goes to get Sanctuary Hills in haha!

It's usually a good idea to stay and wait at the settlement until the foundation level is completed. You will usually get a popup saying size calculation complete or something to that effect. Only after that should you leave the settlement or save your game.
