Update 10/29/22: Hotfix 2.2.4a will address an issue some players are experiencing with plots not constructing without refreshing them.

Patch 2.2.4 of Sim Settlements 2/Chapter 2, 2.3.1 of Workshop Framework, 1.0.12 of Workshop Plus are available now! Not only do we have the rare update to Workshop Plus, but one to the Wasteland Reconstruction Kit as well (thank you @Choochoo1 )!

To view this content we will need your consent to set third party cookies.
For more detailed information, see our cookies page.

  • Two new reports available at the City Planner's Desk terminal
  • Update to Wasteland Reconstruction Kit with some new buildable items
  • Modifications to the HUD code in HQ to add the surplus food/water/power in the extra info section of the meters (so it's clearer what is the limiting factor for those resource types)
  • Sick/Incapacitated Tracking to Vit-o-matic Tracking tool
  • Craftable Disease Cures (at cooking bench)
  • SS2 Extended users - Tom Sanford is now recruitable! (If you haven't run into him, here's a hint try drinking from a certain Industrial bathtub...)
Xbox players, the versions to watch for when you can safely update are: 66 of SS2, and version 34 of Chapter 2.

Is Anyone else having problems building plots in hardcore difficulty?
The Junk plots work, but when placing a "Buildings Materials" Plot, I get the "Level 0" and nothing happens. I click on the ASAM and It says "awaiting confirmation" or something to that effect. But When I select it, nothing happens.
Normally you see a notification at the top "Calculating..." and then a pop showing the materials required.

I didn't experience this in the beta.

This is kind of continuing of a discussion in the public beta thread, but I've started having more CTDs when entering settlements after this patch, and they're happening much faster than previously - before, I'd occasionally fast travel and a couple seconds after loading finished it'd crash, but loading the autosave would work 50/50. Now it's almost instantly after loading finishes, and I've had no luck just reloading the autosave.
It doesn't happen in every settlement, but more than before, and harder to work around.

I have the same problem.
For me "refreshing" the plot via ASAM menu do the trick and build (or update) the plot.

Thank you, but that isn't working for me.
BTW, I should have mentioned before that it is a new game, not an existing save.

It seems to related to when a pop up would normally appear. If all the components required are available the plot builds fine. But if something is missing (eg. wood) and then you click on the ASAM to see what is needed, you would normally get a pop up to show the required components are needed. But at the moment nothing happens.

I changed to "category" mode and the problem seems present still.

I am thinking about deleting Fallout 4, and ss2 and redownload incase of file corruption.

I also have stopped seeing the construction costs popup. But the building and upgrading still seems to work... Maybe it's connected to this part in the changelog?
  • Selecting a building plan will now only prompt the player to agree to the costs if the building is eligible for construction. This was done to make it clearer that setting a building plan on an unoccupied plot worked correctly, since unoccupied plots can’t construct until after they have an owner.
Not sure I like that change, even if working as intended. I usually wait for the costs popup to confirm that the building plan I set was applied and the script had finished, so as to avoid future issues and script lag.

Looking into the plot issue - I fixed a bug related to the auto pay cost options, but it may have created some unexpected scenarios. Will hotfix later today if I can get to the bottom of it.

Ok - have a potential fix. If any of you has a chance to try this, basically download the file, extract it, and replace your existing SS2 - Main.ba2 in your Fallour 4/Data folder.

Even if you don't have this issue, any of you that has a chance to check it out and make sure it doesn't cause issues for folks who weren't running into this bug. The plot code is quite complex, so fixing things for one set of options could have unintended consequences on another set options.

Everything works fine with this file now.
The construction and upgrade costs pop up is back and plots build or upgrade normally.

[BUG] No audio dialog starting in CH2. New save, no quest skipping. After 3rd radio beacon, return to hardware store and Aiden's first dialog is audible, but nothing after that. Also, no speech animation, none of the NCPs or the survivor. Visited The Ron and same problem. All vanilla game dialog and sound still works fine.

Update: [Game Ending BUG] Quest Gunners and Runners, entering Malden Middle School produces a psychedelic view that blocks further progress.

This means the Main.ba2 file for Chapter 2 didn't load for you. Try manually copying it to your Fallout 4/Data folder.

Been testing the beta 224a for about an hour now and seems to be working now.
Thank you Kinggath.

Working for me, I get that cost popups again!
Still crashing consistently when trying to travel to (or near) some settlements, Graygarden in particular at the moment.

Is there a setting to not get the costs popup for a plot upgrade? Previously, selecting Refresh from a plot that has Upgrade Available just started the upgrade without prompting me. I don't use city plans, but I am using Settlement Management Terminal that has a Refresh All Plots tool that is very handy. After I fix needs in the settlement (power, defenses, etc.) and use the Refresh tool I get bombarded with multiple upgraded prompts. Will this prevent plot upgrades when I'm not in the settlement to approve them?

I only use Vortex and for some reason the 2.2.4 CH2 file did not install correctly the first time I downloaded them. I deleted CH2 2.2.4 in Vortex, had it check for updates and redownloaded. That fixed it.

I did get a blue popup message in Vortex that was truncated on the screen (upper right corner) and when I clicked the More button it took me to the mods list filtered by Sim Settlements 2 with no further explanation of the message.

That message confused me too, turns out you have to hover over the text rather than the button to see the whole message. Says something like "this mod contains multiple plugins", so it's just to ensure you don't forget to enable some of them. Usually that happens automatically, unless you're in-game when it's installed I think.

Next bug on the list....New connections....Circe and Lyda are just looking at each other. Reverting to earlier save.
