How it Functions
Each recreational plot will act as a job for a single settler and add to the overall happiness score of your settlement. The happiness gains from recreational plots will be far greater than things like a commercial bar or clinic and as you upgrade it it will add more and more happiness to your settlement.
Plot Size(s) / Foundation Options
The recreational plots come in the standard 2x2 plot size. Available foundations are none, wooden stilts, and concrete.
Multiple Upgrade Levels
Like every other Sim Settlements plot type, structures built at a recreational plot will have the ability to upgrade to level 2 and level 3 versions. Each upgrade of a recreational plot structure’s level will increase the amount of happiness provided to your settlement.
Like every Sim Settlement plot type, recreational plot structures will use more of your settlements resources as they upgrade (food, water, defense, etc.)
How to Upgrade to Higher Level
Recreational plots have 3 basic requirements to trigger an upgrade in a structure’s level:
- they require power
- they must have a settler assigned to them
- you've got to have a full defense meter.
They're not tied into any of the other meters (food, water, jobs, homes, population, etc..) and do not require that other plot types be at a certain level or that a settlement have a certain quantity of a particular plot type.
Sim Settlements Base Mod
While the core Sim Settlements mod has the capability of recreational plots (and provides support for recreational plot “building plans” from Sim Settlement addons), there are currently no “building plans” for recreational plot structures included in the core Sim Settlements mod.
Thus if you have only the core Sim Settlements mod, the recreational plot type will not show up in your workshop menu. However, as soon as you also install one of the addons that do have recreational plot “building plans”, the recreational plot type will show up in your workshop menu.
