Xbox Series X Memory Limitation?

I just downloaded chapter 2 mod to my Xbox Series X. All I play on my system is Fallout 4 with SS2. That's it. I cannot download all of my desired mods without hitting a memory limit even though I only use less than 10% of the total capacity (1 T:cool:. I finally was able to download chapter 2 but now I cannot download other mods like wasteland ventures. Downloading the future "Chapter 3" will be impossible! Has anyone else experienced this problem on Xbox?

Fallout 4 on the Xbox is hard coded to only have access to 2Gb of space for mod files regardless of how big a hard drive you put in there, for some reason (Skyrim had 5). There's nothing that can be done about that unless Bethesda decide to do a "remaster" like they did for Skyrim.
The SS2 team is aware of this constraint though, and they're already working on moving all the "not completely mandatory" stuff over to a separate PC-only download to try to help with that.

Well. I guess that about does it for me and SS2 on the XBox. Now my game is fubar. Having downloaded chapter 2, I could only do so by removing other mods that had a bunch of the building plans my city plans had picked up and now all my beautiful settlements that were leveling up so splendidly - screwed. I started trying to clean things up and soon realized, hopeless. I'm so disappointed I cannot even begin to ... Putting SS2 down for a bit. Unless I can afford (having blown all this money on a useless series x) to upgrade my PC I'm afraid my passion for this mod has been extinguished. Wish I had done more research to understand this 2 gb ridiculous limit. <weeping> Farewell. Good luck with the mod. Maybe next year I'll be able to afford an upgrade and will be back.

UPDATE: A week later ... I have returned to play SS2 on the Series X. I started over loading just vanilla Fallout 4, mods for workbench, hud, ss2, ss2 chapter 2. NOTHING ELSE! No cool plots, no nifty city plans, just little what gets shipped with the base ss2 and chapter 2. I did miss having some of the armor and weapons I'd been downloading on PC via nexus but found some things in creation club and had the credits so what the heck. Bought several weapons, armor and I just downloaded the slocum joe's too. Hoping these don't trip me up. I'm delighted I can still play until chapter 3 drops. Then I guess I will need to invest in a better rig and go back to pc. Unless Bethesda remasters (unlikely, but c'mon - no Fallout 5 until the 2030s?). Or our genius @kinggath and his wizards might figure out a solution. It would be cool if the plans (plots, buildings, cities) could live on a server to be downloaded ad hoc as needed. But that's undoubtedly too resource intensive. If I were designing it I'd use APIs to send/receive server requests - a list for presentation, then a request for the user's selected plan, etc. Just download the plans as they are needed so they wouldn't need to occupy the game's memory space, be a separate mod. The other question that occurred to me: any chance the SS2 environment could be offered in creation club?

We are going to cut whatever content necessary from the core and Chapter 2 to ensure that all three chapter's main story and the pieces necessary to use the main gameplay loop can fit on Xbox!

Going to be a tight squeeze though... The dream is to leave you guys with 100MB for utility mods at least. Long term though, I see the Xbox version as being the gateway drug to get folks to come play on PC haha.

Who knows, maybe we'll get a Fallout 4 Special Edition and bethesda will give more space!

That's about the way I see it too lol. Sad but gotta cope with it. Man, even 1 extra GB would make all the difference. Even addons make a ton of replayability. Since I've started another new game, I've managed to get some extra in my load order, and even some goofy outfits for myself to go with it. Wasteland venturers interiors are better than no wasteland venturers, tiny living is pretty cool, junk town extreme is an absolute must. And vault tec plots are great even without the vault. To add to jampads and junk town that I already had.
If Tinuvia (who is super awesome by the way) ever makes a select collection of WV "best" designs (that's about 50MB and not 300), that'd be a must have. But then there would probably be no space for it anyway :/
having blown all this money on a useless series x
is it too late for a refund? I mean, series x is awesome and all, but the stupid limit...

I hate that it will be necessary. The mod works SO BEAUTIFULLY on the Xbox series x. I had to remove every other mod other than bare necessities and tiny living plots. It limits things, only one recreation plan per SPECIAL and only relaxation for 1x1. If I hadn't been playing on PC I wouldn't miss all the neat plots and city plans out there. Special Edition! We can dream. They really should do something since Fallout 5 is a long way out. (if ever) At my age I cannot afford to wait! :) I so appreciate the countless hours you and the team has spent making this incredible mod. I just love walking around my settlements and seeing how things evolve. It's the little details that make it delightful. Frankly, I probably won't try to go on to chapter 3 on the series X.
