Xbox One HoloTape Issue

In Fallout 4 Xbox One edition I am having a problem loading the "City Manager 2078 Holotape", When I try and load it, it prompts me with "Searching for Pipboy...", Then "Pipboy not found. Unable to install auto-management tools, please load this tape into a pipboy unit." If anyone knows of a solution please respond, Thank you very much.

Just tested on my Xbox, looks like if you hit play to pick up the holotape, it doesn't work. If you go into your inventory under Misc and run it, it should work.

Marked for wiki addition. Has anyone duplicated this on PC? I tried multiple times and couldn't get it to glitch.

@Kana292 - Did you hit the Play option directly from the counter on a clean save? That was the only way I was able to trigger it - though haven't tried on PC yet.

I loaded an older save starting at the vault exit. Ran to the Concord location and selected Play instead of taking it. SS and Industrial Revolution up to date. I did not try starting a new game or deactivating all mods but SS.

Must be a quirk in the way Xbox handles terminals. I'm uploading a hotfix to resolve a different issue and will include a fix for this as well.

I have this same issue. Tried picking up and playing directly. Does the same thing. Any fix?
Probably need to clean save Sim Settlements out of your game, update it, and then load again.

To do this, just uncheck Sim Settlements from your Load Order screen, load your game and save it, now check Sim Settlements for updates on the Mods screen and then check it in again on your Load Order screen. When you load back in, and go back to the pickup location, you should be able to loot and play it successfully.

I tried that but no luck. This isn't the first time I've used it either but a new game that I didn't start with it loaded. I tried every combination of undoing craziness possible. No worries, I wasn't that far. On starting a new game it worked fine.

Also, just to note, I've done a lot of playing it on Xbox and it really seems that the best use is not to try to have everyone in a home. About ten seems to be the limit and mostly use it for the shops, food, and industrial. Otherwise once everything gets upgraded enough it crashes or lags.

It's awesome though and few places have enough room anyway.

Thanks for the quick response.
