On the plus side, I think I finally figured out how to make Marcy happy; let her share in the loot from incoming 'SKK Combat Stalkers' groups. (that's some Operator Armor and a Wh.Mk19 Shrike from skibadaa's weapon pack - I was informed from a reliable source as to how much certain people love cannons)

I can't give settlers the big cannons and miniguns I play with, they would easily kill everyone else trying to hit the bad guy. That's a sweet looking piece though. In fact I've used that mod before that's why that weapon looks so familiar.

Now that you mention it he does literally tell you that sometimes people are stupid and need to be be told to better their lives. I always say if you actually listen to the people you deal with and your settlers they will tell you what's up. I mean it doesn't get any clearer than that. Again great writing! Intentional or not.

Honestly I feel like it has to be intentional, as part of some kind of "we need to put tutorials in, but let's have the characters explain stuff, which means what they say has to make sense from their perspective too" arrangement. There's more than a few lines scattered in there like that.
 
Yeah Old Paul comes in all dumbfounded and then gets all Billy bad ass wanting to show he has what it takes to lead. But for real he is worse than Preston when it comes to him with Little Colas food. Like slow that script down. I talk to him give him some stuff, turn around and he is already asking again.

Its mostly just for looks anyway, I swear she is never in position to actually help in fights - and she is assigned as a Guard! so happy theres Martial Plots with built in turrets
Most everyone else gets Fiery Laser Rifles, so I can see/hear firefights from a distance easier. Those Combat Stalkers come in on the oddest angles.

I've been running Whirlygig Defenses, work very well, but if you run mortal settlers... They'll get mowed down. LOL

I need to get some screens of me and the companions locked and loaded to share.
 
When you really want something dead! Shoots mini nuke at slow full auto speeds.

And of course the Vulcan Minigun that does more damage than both the other two combined multiplied by a lot

Then there's the daily driver the AR308 fully auto. Hard to see but it has 100 round drums.

I've been rolling with the X12 Plasmacaster mod since it came out last week; such a gorgeous piece of tech, even if it doesn't quite seem 100% "lore friendly" (wrong era of scifi for the Fallout Aesthetic, really), quite impressive that they managed to get 'fire mode select' AND 'alt fire' working like that though - you can toggle between semi-auto and full-auto, and switch to the underslung grenade launcher, just with custom hotkeys.

In FO3 I went all plasma since then I have pretty much stayed ballistic weapons. Easier to play a stealth build with silent weapons that don't leave tracers Muzzle flash still gets yeah sometimes though.

Yeah, I deliberately DON'T go "stealth archer" in Fallout, makes things too easy.
 
Then late game move to a more heavy mechanized infantry with air cavalry support. Which reminds me I need to get my x-03 armor about this point.
