Well Well Well! the generator is broken.

In the quest Well well well! you go down to the maintenance area underneath Concord and you find the plutonium well, in the terminal it says to "kick" the generator and press the button, the problem i have is that the generator is broken since i was here before the quest started and tried to "kick" the generator but it broke and now i'm stuck with a broken generator.
Do i have to find a new save before i went there (at this point basically gotta start a new save rip)
Or is there some way i can fix this.

Force complete or restart probably. Not sure if memory lane would break too since it also involves that generator.
Did you try pushing the button at all? Or clicking the generator then pushing the button? (now I sound like an internet support)

I wouldn't do a force complete without hearing from some more knowledgeable. They can break things that don't show up until much, much later.

I did try pressing the button and activating the generator all the ways i could think of.

I dunno, force complete is my best friend at this point. Mostly for hammer quest cause I'm not building 8 houses. Sure, it's probably safer to never use it but what are the other options?

Guess i'll give that a try when i got time later today, thankfully it's a fairly fresh save so starting a new game wouldn't be a huge loss if it breaks something forcing it to complete.

Well i went ahead and gave it the ole force complete, as i got out of the maintenance tunnel the quest updated with the generator turning on and when i got out the tunnels i got the cinematic for the lights being on in town so it worked, now let's hope it didn't mess anything up later.

Made an account on the forums just so I could respond to this! I had the same issue, but instead of doing a force complete of the whole quest, you can also specifically skip that one objective/stage of the quest. The specific command to request what stage you're on is "GetStage [Quest ID]". That should output a number, and then you add 1 to it and use the command "SetStage [Quest ID] [Number from GetStage prompt +1].

So for example, to complete the broken quest objective, you would input "GetStage SS2_Sirlick_MQ06'' which outputs that you're on stage 71.00 (which is equivalent to 71). So, adding one, you input "SetStage SS2_Sirlick_MQ06 72" to complete that one stage of the quest.

Using this method, I still got the cutscene for completing the quest and was able to push the button to restart the main generator too. I only had to skip the 'kick' generator objective. Definitely still sucks to do it that way but it may be less risky in terms of breaking the mod. Hope this helps folks who also have this problem in the future, it seems to be reoccurring for us explorers lol

Yeah i was thinking of doing that but didn't know the quest name/id and then immediately forgot about it. :D
