Minutemen lady comes up, gives sob story, gives quest to go kill gunners, quest starts with the first task to go to a location. No marker to follow and no understanding where to go.
 
Is it the quest to go and kill the gunners in the Ticker Tape lounge? I had that, it’s an unmarked location, just north east of mass bay medical, you have to be up on the highway to find the door. However I found it and cleared it and that didn’t complete the quest either, some kind of bug. I used setstage_characterquest_emilymarcus 40 I think, she gave me the quest again to go to a different place that had markers, did it, then both quests (listed twice after the setstage) disappeared once it was completed. I just guessed the quest level (for the number at the end of the setstage command), you could try 60 or 80 or 200 to see if that just completes it if you want. Save first! :)
 
When I got her quest she sent me to Bradburton Overpass in Nukaworld for some reason. That never had a quest marker, but I went there anywhere and cleared it and the quest moved on correctly.
 
I got send to the vault in Malden, no quest marker. It might not be set to have a marker.
 
I had the same issue, and it described a location that I couldn't find anywhere, even on Fallout wikis. Turns out it was sending me to Ini-Tec, a location in the Fusion City Rising mod.
 
What I'm saying is, to progress the quest, regardless where she tells you to go, use the above console command. I went to Vault 95 (no quest marker) and killed everything there. I had to use the aforementioned console command to complete the quest.

According to a video I saw from King Gath, he should be putting out a patch today as part of his bi-weekly patch schedule. So hopefully this quest will be among the ones patched. Especially if you are a console user. If you are, I apologize, as my advice on the matter so far will be useless to you. Until King Gath patches it.

But either way, I hope the console command helps.

Are you sure you got them all? Gunners are like cockroaches. There are a bunch of gunners behind 2 different terminal locked doors. Could be a vanilla bug where one spawned underground.

When I shot the last gunner in the last room dead I completed the quest objective. I returned to Emily and quest complete.

I also already cleared it once to help out [REDACTED] in getting free of their [REDACTED] [REDACTED]. If you know what I mean. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more, say no more.
Wouldn't want to spoil any surprises to folks new to the game and all.
 
First and only time I've done this quest, it sent me to Gunner HQ. Not that I didn't mind killing filthy mercs, but I was kind of hoping to leave Gunner HQ alone because I don't know what it would be for the quest line if I killed Captain Wes before the end of the story.

Not found any problems killing him in the vanilla game.
 
Still seems to be a problem in 1.0.2b. I happened to have Emily spawned, but hadn't spoke to her yet to start the quest. I then did, and was sent to Ruined Skyscraper and, like everyone else, no marker. I eliminated all the Gunners there. Super Mutants, too. I even TCL'd around the place to see if any of them spawned in an inaccessible area, but found no one. The quest didn't advance.

On a previous playthrough (on an earlier version) I had been sent to Vault 95 and it worked fine.

As for using the SetStage command, kinggath and others on the SS2 team have advised against using console commands to skip Quest stages unless they explicitly say to go ahead and do so. The quest may be advanced, but it can skip back-end script steps that can fail to set up other functions/items/etc.

I'm updating the 1.0.2b thread to mention this bug is still there.

Only partly relevant, but tbh I would fully expect them to write their own new Gunner Boss (probably with his own HQ) if they are staying as the primary antagonists.
And given Jake's backstory revelations...
 
I am having the same issue. I got the quest, no quest marker. I was sent to the ruined skyscraper, so I went and cleared out what I thought would be the right location. ... Pinnacle Highrise. But the quest is not advancing. I triple checked every floor of the area, and the exterior. Even the nearby Hub360. Went back through a 4th time and used the console 'kah' to ensure all hostiles were killed. So now I guess I will advance the quest through the console, but I really did not want to do that.
 
I have the same thing she told me to go to Green-Tec Genetics, but no marker, I am on pc, and when I try talking to her all I get is are you ready to take out those gunners, so where am I supposed to go to complete this quest.
 
I have cleared gunner HQ and its not the wright place, so if any one knows where Green-Tec Genetics is on the map, please tell me Thanks.
