Not a bug Traders Unresponsive

    So I've heard some things about this bug, but it just keeps happening or going away randomly for me and I just don't know what's causing it and it's bloody frustrating, so I was hoping to find some insight on here.

    Traders I assign to commercial plots will work normally for awhile, but at random intervals they'll stop responding to me entirely, only answering dialogue initiation with the generic "Yes?" "Yeah?" or whatever as if they were generic, uncontrolled settlers out in the wild. I can't even ask them to trade items or initiate dialogue at all. Sometimes it's only traders in a specific settlement, sometimes it seems to be global for all my settlements, but it's only settlers assigned to SS Commercial Plots, and it seems to come and go randomly. Lately, however, it's been happening more and more and it's frustrating me. Strangely enough, traders assigned to commercial plots that make them "doctors" still have all their dialogue, probably because it acts off a different flag or something. I'm not very good with editing mods or anything to see what the deal with that is.

    I also noticed this same issue with Stash, the wandering chems trader, but it turns out that's a vanilla game bug that just so happens to be identical to what I'm experiencing, and while that might be relevant I just have no idea what to do with that information.

    The "Showbartermenu" console command still works perfectly fine, it's just annoying that I can't actually trade with these settlers normally or, y'know, treat them as Settlers without assigning them to something else first, and assigning them to something else then reassigning them doesn't seem to fix the issue. I saw that there was a common bug regarding named Settlers from vanilla having this sort of bug, but I dont' have any of those, so I don't know if it's also affecting that. Tried the stated fix for that on the wiki and it didn't work though, so I'm lost.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I already checked out everything I could on the wiki, which is why I know the named settlers generally have similar problems, but I'm specifically having trouble with non-named Settlers. I have Horizon and the Unlimited Companion Framework, but they aren't causing any problems outlined on that page, and I've rearranged the UCF a few times just to make sure. I'm also on the Horizon Discord and been talking to people on there, and nobody's been able to figure out what the issue is except for a maybe a load order problem, and nothing I've messed with in terms of that has fixed it so far. Otherwise I don't have anything that should affect Traders.

    I did just figure out last night that once the traders "close shop" for the day (like around 6pm) I can interact with them like normal settlers, so it's clearly something with their trading subroutines in particular that's causing the problem.

    Unrelated, I've also had problems with some settlers I've assigned to places just grouping up in one spot in my Settlement, and even the options used through the gavel don't fix that. I think it's more a pathing issue but I haven't been able to find any fixes for that either. Not as much of a problem as the traders though.

    One thing I see in your load order you can change is
    You have the Year one mega pack but you also have AnotherBrickInTheWall.esp
    home_improvement_all.esp
    those two ESP can be removed since they are both in the mega pack.

    is the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch up to date?

    So just delete Another Brick and the Home Improvements AIO? And I'm sure UF4OP is up to date; 2.0.6 beta just as it is on the Nexus. Somebody said that was what usually caused the standing around problem and they gave me some independent scripts to overwrite stuff on it to help with that, but it only fixed it for a short while before it started happening again.

    As for the tool, I assume I just download it raw rather than use the Mod Organizer? I hope I won't screw anything up by using it; it looks complicated as butts and I'm really anxious about this kinda stuff...

    Edit: Well apparently one of those aren't in the MegaPack cuz getting rid of 'em just deleted a level 3 School I built and made it into an outhouse. Ironic, really.
    Also a bunch of stuff keeps dropping from the available loadouts for plots when i rearrange the load order on this stuff now aaaAAAAHHHH

    Okay so now I'm having an issue with certain plots (random as far as I can tell) dropping what they had and completely changing to different things because the specific building that they were has disappeared from the list of available buildings, but every time I go into the lists the lists keep changing, adding and removing things! All I did was turn off those two esps and then turn them back on what's happening D:

    And it STILL hasn't fixed my issue x-x

    I did the basic stuff for the Fallrim program though. At least nobody's standing around all bunched in one place anymore.

    O for the 2 esp you removed any plots from those addons will either need a refresh or a rebuild.
    turning them back on may have caused a few problems. The addons you removed will try and over right the ones in the mega pack

    Okay so it turns out all it took was some time for all the plot options to come back, so they're fine now, I think. I'm still having the trader problem, however I noticed it's now only happening in Abernathy Farm. Frankly I don't even remember if it was happening anywhere else; I was just going there so often I noticed it expressly. Also in that settlement in particular I keep getting the issue where I fast-travel in and everyone's grouped in the center of the area, which I know is a vanilla bug, but it's strange that these things are only happening at Abernathy.

    If its only in Abernathy that cell is most likely corrupt in some way :(
    what city plan is it and what commercial plots?

    I actually don't use the city plans; I place all my plots manually. The changes in the plots only seemed to affect some 2x2 Residential and Recreational plots in Sanctuary, but nothing happened anywhere else that I could see. The trader issue is only happening in interior 1x1 Commercial plots in Abernathy, specifically a bar and a general goods store i have set up, while the drugstore I have is still operational and treating the owner as a doctor.

    Come to think of it, this was a totally separate issue I found and didn't think much of until this moment, but at my Red Rocket there's a butcher shop that acts like a normal trader, but has no trader inventory, just the loose clothing the trader has on him.

    which plots are they? SS plots or from a addon?

    if they are broken plots we can ask the addon maker to look into those plots.

    So the plots in Sanctuary that got rekt when I deactivated those two add-ons--both residential and recreational--are definitely pure SS plots, not from add-ons, which only makes things weirder. Same thing with the commercial plots in Abernathy with the glitched traders and the Prime Meats Annex in Red Rocket. It's all SS stuff.

    Considering I use Mod Organizer and F4SE to launch the game I feel like trying to manual install will not bode well...

    Are you sure you don't have any other suggestions?

    I use NMM and F4SE and I download just about everything as manual download.
    ive never used MO but its pretty much the same I think when it comes to manual downloads

    you could try scrapping the plot and rebuilding and see if that makes a diferance

    I'll try it and post an edited result here, but I doubt that'll work since it seems to be universal among specifically lone traders in Abernathy. I'll try it with the butcher shop too to see if that fixes it.

    Okay so... the butcher shop just isn't working period, dunno what the deal with that is, and nothing is helping the trader issue in Abernathy. For some reason if the bartender is away from the bar he works like a non-settler trader, meaning I can only access his trader menu but not mess with his settler inventory, but the moment he goes back it's the same issue, and the general store trader I have won't work no matter what, though I can still normally trade with her if she's away from her store, which is... a lot of the time now for some reason.

    In addition, two other plots in Sanctuary have gotten junked and replaced with another building, both at different times, and for some reason when I tried to assign two different people to plots they disappeared, I came back later, and they were completely different people as if they'd totally respawned.

    I have no idea what's going on anymore.
