Tiny but impactful inventory management improvement.

Please place a single space in front of the vitomatic and the prosnap names. This causes them to be listed first in the inventory with other items that have a space at the front, and sorted from there. This is a tiny but impactful QOL change that should be minimal effort to integrate. I would do it myself, but it seems they can't be modded in a workbench.

Alternatively, allow them to be editable in a weapons workbench so we can change the names ourselves- even if they have no upgradable mods. Thank you for your time and consideration!

What you are asking for will force YOUR style of gameplay on everyone else and that is not cool. The second option you give is a much better solution.
Additionally, you are unlikely to get an official resoponce on this post. Once they do see it there is no telling when this may or may not be added into an update.

If this is something that you want then you can make the necessary edits. The CK is available for free to download. As is xEdit.
Using either of these tools you can edit the names to fit your needs.

I am not trying to be rude. Its just that many people come here and offer suggestions and expect they will be added when that is not the case.
The fastest (and often best) way to get some mod added is to do it yourself.

You say you're not trying to be rude, but I literally included an alternative work around specifically so as to not cramp anyone's style and this thread exists for the express purpose of allowing people to make suggestions, while your behavior suggests that making suggestions is stupid and "just go fix it yourself." If you respond to everyone like this you're going to drive less confrontation tolerant users off the forum.

I did not make my suggestion expecting an immediate response, but rather in the hopes that one tiny change could be made on the next update to address a small annoyance that would have a big impact for players who like to keep their inventory organized. I don't even expect the change to be prompt, as I know Kinggath is doing a testing playthrough right at this time. But that also doesn't mean I have no right to make a suggestion.

He’s just saying there’s a ton of other stuff that they are working on and fixing and this is a change that serves no use in that case. Best bet is download xedit find the item you want and make the changes as a patch for yourself. xedit is super easy to use if you watch a few videos on YouTube.

also once chapter 3 releases and all the Hq fixes get taken care of this kind of stuff may be something that can be taken care of

I would try Rename Anything for that purpose. You can change any item name in the Inspection screen.

Unless you are using FallUI. You have to make sure FallUI's examinemenu.swf file overwrites the one used by Rename Anything to prevent breaking FallUI. The breaks Rename Anything's ability to rename inventory items, but FallUI will work.

You can also add Rename Anything Enhanced, which adds extra functions to Rename Anything. Both require F4SE.

I do have Rename Anything before FallUI (using MO2), and to my knowledge it works. I can change item names on the Inspection menu. If I change the tag name, I'll get the corresponding icon (example below, where [Range] is changed to [Camera])

That mod of yours is a nice addition, though!

Uh. Huh. Let me just say to Freddrick, in re-reading my response I come out swinging pretty hard. I sometimes forget how much nuance and tone is lost through text, and I sound HARSH in that reply.

I apologize mate, I don't think you were being as big of a jerk as to warrant that stiff of a response. Maybe a little rude, and I stand by my point on your stance. I guess my point is I could have worded things more kindly.

In reply to the rest of you, thanks for the advice, in particular for the "rename everything" mod, it's a sound suggestion.
