Question Time to Start A New Game - Several Small Questions

After 4 months off, I have started Game 7 as a Conqueror/Minuteman Liberator.

Thanks to Kinggath and others, the only 2 serious problems/annoyances in my Game 6 were fixed by (1) Patch 4.2.8 Motivation Stick, and (2) Patch 4.2.8 Sim Settlements Nukaworld. Fortunately, the other less serious problems in Game 6 were fixable by deleting a mod or a specific workaround, e.g. console commands. This leads to the following questions:
  1. Scraping - are there any new mods that allow scraping additional items (for example, molerat corpses, trash, debris) that do not cause game freezing/crashes?
  2. Taking Independence Quest - are Minutemen outposts and vassals now counted toward this Quest? Previously, they were not and you either (1) played the vanilla MM settlement quests first or (2) used a console command.
  3. Misty Pines/Commonwealth Conifers - previously these 2 mods tended to cause Quit freezes. Does anyone know if that issue was resolved?
  4. Bunker Hill - previously using prebuilts caused problems. Does anyone know if that issue was resolved and prebuilts are fully usable?
  5. Vassal Guards - has the situation where guards at vassals unassigning themselves from martial/guard plots been fixed?
Any suggestions/links are appreciated.

Thanks

I don't have hard answers for all of these, but I can give you my own experience so far.
  1. I spent some time looking for a clean up mod that doesn't break pre-combines, but it looks like most (if not all) of them do that. I did find a nice mod that lets me scrap corpses though, which is pretty great, Scrap Dead Things.
  2. No clue.
  3. I'm using Commonwealth Conifers - Seasons and haven't had any serious issues. Kinggath has a google doc that lists all of the mods he used for Season 2 of his "Kinggath plays..." series and I figure anything on that list is fair game (as long as I do my research). Incidentally, he uses Misty Pines in that series.
  4. No clue.
  5. I haven't experienced this personally, but I've done a good bit of reading on the forums and it doesn't seem like it's fixed. But because I have no first-hand experience, I wouldn't take that as gospel.

@zerohalo100 - thank you.
  1. My experience has been similar - you can avoid significant problems, ie freezes and CTDs by avoiding scraping mods. In the "early" sim settlements, I was able to scrap every settlement down to the bare ground with few exceptions and there were very few attendant problems. These exceptions could then be fixed with console commands. With the recent SS mods and upgrades, I have had many freezes and CTDs. With valuable assistance from the forum members such as @kinggath @MrCJohn @RayBo @NDCowdy @1ae0bfb8 @Rudy and @Bored Peon , I was able to fix most problems, particularly those caused by scrapping.
  2. The console command worked the last time, so I will use that again.
  3. I will try Commonwealth Conifers again and Misty, again, and hopefully the problems I had previously have been resolved in the last 4 months. If not, delete these and keep playing.
  4. After playing/testing Bunker Hill in my previous game, I will continue to play this settlement as not prebuilt and preconquerored.
  5. While that was an annoyance in my Game 6, for now, I will not waste time and resources with martial plots.
When Fallout 4 first came out, I played probably 1000 hours and then stopped. Then Kinggath comes out with salvage beacons and I started up again and stopped. Then it was sim settlements. Then conqueror with personal guards.

My only new suggestion is "pathing" which is probably not doable due to the amount of time, effort and coding needed. Many forum members participate in designing and prebuilding settlements and have developed really cool and interesting designs. However, some of these, playing as a conqueror/liberator cause pathing problems for both me and the NPCs. At Ten Pines, I tried a prebuilt that was so complicated that the defenders could not move, I had difficulty entering and none of my assault team could clear the periphery. Fortunately there is a fix - after sniping/removing the prebuilt/preconqueored guards, but before conducting a vassal assault, any problems moving through the settlement can be fixed by using the City Planners Desk to reset the prebuild to another at a different level. Forgot to mention, I generally start my prebuilts/preconquerored at Level 3. So other then that only minor annoyances. So again thanks to him and the other forum members.

I installed Commonwealth Conifers and almost immediately got a CTD and freeze. Immediately disabled Commonwealth Conifers and no more freezes and only the normal once per 10 hours CTD, which is probably due to my impatience.

I don't know if it makes a difference but I used Commonwealth Conifers Seasons, not Commonwealth Conifers Redux. I'd make it a link but my account is too new to post them.
