The Koeran Configuration Wizard Development Thread

Before I start implementation, I'm going to layout what I have in mind for final feedback:

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-_yqjN2Fr32o7my8TXv9YQnt8_RcV1mwmQqA0VTItSs/edit?usp=sharing

I think this captures the spirit of what you all had in mind, though rather than label them low/medium/high - I categorized them based on the experience that the settings you've suggested imply each type of user would enjoy.

For the most part, I plan on implementing the specific settings exactly as you have them listed in that spreadsheet. The exception being the performance based settings which will remain tied to the performance question.

For future reference, here is a simplified summary of what options are set based on the selected profile. If the option is listed without a ": X", assume it means that options is enabled. Unlisted options are left to a sensible default (for example, all of the Advanced section stuff).

Automated

Simple Objectives
Commercial Requirement: None
Auto Assignment (All options on)
All Upgrades: Automatic

City Builder

Plot Costs
Supply Costs
Citizen Needs Requirements
Dynamic Needs
Simple Objectives
Martial Tech Requirement
Job Requirement
Commercial Requirement: Population
Auto Assignment (Unique NPCs Off)
Advanced Upgrades: Manual

Hardcore Mode

Plot Costs
Supply Costs
Citizen Needs Requirements
Dynamic Needs
Realistic Build Times
Maintenance Costs
Martial Tech Requirement
Job Requirement
Commercial Requirement: Homes
Auto Assignment (Away From Homes/Jobs and Unique NPCs Off)
Advanced Upgrades: Manual

I think it's perfect although I'd suggest possibly adding just one more bullet point under "If Hardcore Mode Selected" page:
  • "- Realistic Build times will be on so Build/Upgrade times will take a lot longer"

Automated

Simple Objectives
Commercial Requirement: None
Auto Assignment (All options on)
All Upgrades: Automatic
A minor suggestion here since I think with the new wizard more people may use all upgrades automatic: I think it may go well with this if Advanced Industrial on automatic selection will be made to prefer available choices that have never been built yet.
