hey everybody,

Just something that came to mind, if a remake or special edition for fallout 4 were to come out with an updated engine/creation kit, what potential could that hold for such well designed system overhauls like sim settlements 2? What would you like to see? It just came to mind since while this mod and all those who have work for it (ex. City plans) are beyond amazing considering this was something that not even the devs thought up when making the game, there are many limitations at play. Especially with an engine that hasn’t kept up with advances in tech as well as obviously the creative brilliance of modders.

Personally I would like to see greatly expanded script processing to truly allow for actual settlement simulation without having settlers stand around doing nothing for an hour or plot functions messing up simply because the script load got too heavy. What would all of you like to see/do if the engine limitations were gone or lessened with a modern revision?

I guarantee there's one thing above all others that people would want for a "Special Edition" of Fallout 4.

That is: the removal of the arbitrary 2Gb max limit on space for mods on the Xbox.

While I don’t play F4 on consoles, I absolutely agree that should be a thing.

Meh. Get a PC. ;p
The problem is that many can't afford to buy a decent computer capable of running Fallout 4 with mods without too much clutter.
In my country, an average gaming computer costs about $ 2.400.00 or about 32 minimum wages nationally. In this case, a console (costing only $ 493) comes out more advantageous.

Agreed, while I don’t play fallout 4 on console there should be every reason to allow those who do greater opportunity to play games to there fullest potential or at least to a further degree with mods than would be normally the case with such a limited capacity for mods.

This.
Also if the engine was reworked (which is very doubtful since Bethesda rarely does it even for their new titles) that would probably make most existing mods incompatible until a ton of tweaks, so there's that.

Yeah, just to be clear, I was taking a shot at Yaugie. He's a good guy that helps a lot, but I know guys like him, because I am a guy like him. Every once in awhile we need to get taken down a peg, so our heads don't get too bloated ;p

Anyway, yes, it's absurd and short minded that the DL limits on console are so low. At the very least, there should have been a few options for players to choose from ranging up to 10 or 20GB allowing the player to choose the limitation.

I guess we're all kinda in the same boat then :D

Why choose that? Unless... Fallout Special Edition with 10GB, Anniversary Edition with 20GB and an actually good fatman from CC?

I definitely appreciate the occasional reminder that I'm still just a puny mortal and not a glorious shining zero-point font of wisdoms. for now.

Because console hard drives are extremely limited out of the box and most console gamers don't get THAT into modding, so just having a flat 20GB reserved for mods they'll never use would take up space for other games.

Sony for example uses at least 125GB(last time I checked) for it's operating system, so with the default 500GB HD you really have less than 400GB to use. With a lot of games moving to the 50+ GB range over the last few years, you're constantly uninstalling and reinstalling games.

But isn't mortality just an obstacle on your road to eternal glory?..

Oh yeah fair, haven't thought of that. I just assume the game can take up more space if you need, but it's not reserved beforehand. Probably not how it works.
(500 is kinda nothing with games like RDR2 but it's not too uncommon for me to delete half my games after 100% them)
