Solved Stop time and losing HP

Have had a couple issues surface in using the new workshop/build mode.
(1) stop time config not working correctly - I switched the config to stop time (as a potential work around to second issue). It worked fine for about an hour. Then, randomly I finished building something and exited. The sound effect was produced and the HUD changed, but NPCs were frozen. I saved the game. Restarted the computer and relaunched with new save file. The NPCs remained frozen ... even after going in and out of workshop mode a couple times. The workshop status flag isn’t clearing even though the HUD says so (can’t see items to add). Once the config was switched to OFF, the NPCs returned to normal. Anyone else experience something like this?

(2) Losing HP in workshop mode - I was in survival mode and was losing health. Thought the game was being harsh. Near zeroed a couple times. Drinking water from water pump quickly restored HP. Started a new game with normal difficulty. I continue to get severe HP drain. No debuff icons in HUD this time. The HP drain seems more pronounced after flying back and forth but not 100% on connection. Get the blurry eyes effect when I get (near) zeroed. Drinking water immediately restores HP after each gulp. Anyone else have this problem?

This was originally posted in SS Questions. Deleted that one and move it here.

In previous SS Questions posting, MadGax responded:

Yes I had the losing HP. But I don't think I was in WS mode.
I had an issue where my HP dropped to like 1 and I got the blurry vision/heartbeat.
When I would use a stimpak, my bar would partially fill then immediately drain back down to 1.
I tried eating a squirrel on a sick and the game just killed me and then sent me back to the game menu.
I think mine was related to my build limit, though I am not sure.

Haven't seen the stop time bug, maybe I'll try that on for a bit in my playthrough to see if I hit any of those issues.

The losing HP has been reported a lot, but I can't figure out how to replicate it. MadGax's issue actually sounds like something I ran into recently, which is that Better Location Damage actually adds a bleed mechanic by default that I didn't realize was there... so I kept bleeding out and not understanding why.

I had the losing health issue a couple of times when in workshop mode in Sanctuary. I was being lazy and had tgm on at the time. When i exited workshop mode i was at critical health. When i exited tgm and ate , health returned and stayed. Which made it stranger. It happened twice then stopped occurring. I put it down to script lag. i have no extra mods installed. Just The usual SS, CQ and ss add on packs.

As I use it more, more details. There’s an immediate ~20% hit. Had full health. Activated workshop. Deactivated. HPs lost. Something basic is getting triggered... not sure what it really means ‘under the hood’ but the hit seems to take place as exit workshop mode (WM) (the HP bar isn’t already lowered when it appears; changes immediately after bar appears).

One more thing. It’s not additive. Going in and out repeatedly quickly doesn’t keep taking off more. So there’s more to it than just triggering WM

In Sanctuary settlement before setting up the outpost, I lost 20% going immediately in and out of WM. In Starlight after establishing the outpost, I lost 80%. Now, having gone back to Sanctuary, taking a 80% hit.

The loss is almost as if the game thinks I’m swimming under water (or suffered some environmental damage) while I’m in WM.

Not sure if a vid would help but can create if need be

One thing that occurs when you have flight mode enabled, is that it changes your race. This causes all magic effects to be dispelled. So if you had things bolstering your HP, they would be cleared.

Downloaded new patches (SS 3-1 & Conq)
Disabled flight and checked HP, issue gone
Turn flight back on, HP loss not appearing ‍:clap

I was getting ready to start a thread to report a problem with stop time in workshop mode. I am having the same issue as reported by the OP. My current workaround is to turn the stop time option off in Workshop Plus then enter and exit workshop mode in order to get time to resume out of workshop mode. I do not save the game beforehand.

Losing HP in workshop mode is caused by a conflict between flight mode in WS+ and the HP suppression effect that rads have in survival mode.

If rads are suppressing your HP in survival below your max HP, and if any health regen effect (including level ups) is active while in workshop mode with flight activated, then you will lose HP when exiting workshop mode. Weirdly, if you lose all your HP, you will not die, but any subsequent attempt to heal yourself will result in instant death.

Kinggath is aware of the issue, but it might be some time before the next WS+ update.

I am not commenting on the HP loss issue. I am commenting on time failing to resume when exiting workshop mode. It doesn't happen every time but if you make frequent use of freeze time in workshop mode it will happen. The only comment from Kinggath on that was he had never experienced it happening. I am confirming that the OP is not the only one to experience this issue.

Sure, okay. I was responding to the OP about the HP loss issue.

I don't use the freeze time option because it prevents the Xbox's Place Anywhere mod from functioning, so I don't know about that one.

Just putting it out there that I'm experiencing the HP loss effect as well. Changing the config to only have Invulnerability and No Fall Damage enabled fixed it though (particularily after disabling the flymode option, it seemed to mess with my health bar every single time). Another issue I came across and I'm not sure if it's this mod or the backpacks mod but out of nowhere mid playthrough my character suddenly had a permanent 70 weight on her at all times, even after using player.removeallitems. During that time I had all the default settings on for this mod and used it LOTS. New game has fixed the issue completely.

Thanks a ton for making this mod! I've been DYING for an eyedropper tool in workshop mode since the game was released!
