some questions

I would like to ask a couple of questions about the building process, I apologize if I did not see the obvious answers in the game. I am not very familiar with the Sim Settlement system, I used city plans on some farms, which I was too lazy to build myself, but never really delved into.

First, recreational plots: can only one settler be assigned to a whole plot to be considered a hobbyist?

The second question is about upgrades: how can I find out what materials are needed for a plot so that it can be upgraded?

And one more question about auto-assignment, I turned it off in the sim settlement and the workshop framework settings, but the settlers still continue to assign themselves to the plots. I don't know if this is a bug, but sometimes it's a little annoying. You want to neatly arrange the plot, choose its appearance, but they immediately pounce on it and begin to build like crazy :D So the question is how to get them to stop doing this? :)

I also have a new question. My Sanctuary was occupied by some dubious persons, they walk everywhere, touch my furniture and stuff:no: but none of them wants to talk to me. Can anyone explain what this invasion is about? :D

You mean when plots go to from level 1 to level 2?
For most plots, as far as I understand it, they should upgrade on their own when other conditions are met.

The only time I believe a player needs to do anything is if the plot has different options at higher levels, and I think most of those plots are not in yet.
(basic plots should auto upgrade).

Those are visitors, they are meant to give your settlements more of an alive and immersive feeling. If you don't like them you can disable them in the settings.

I have a problem with upgrades as well, my spot seemingly has all its requirements fullfilled (except if there's something I miss), I have a "Upgrade available!" button, but when I click on it, nothing happens, can anyone help ?
I have also seen this. All requirements met including happiness. You click on the upgrade button in the menu and nothing happens. Just some beeping from clicking on the ASAM. It seems this menu will not show up unless the PC has the required materials in their inventory. I have seen this many times so I would consider it repeatable.

and ASAM shows that the plot is now ready for updating? With such indicators of housing, jobs and entertainment? I'm wondering what then affects updates at all.
I just let them upgrade on auto. I hated trying to build even with scrap everything
and place anywhere. I only put down ASAMs and run provisioners to all settlements

So I don't know if the issue with upgrades has been fixed since 1.0.7, but just in case I found where the problem was coming from.

In my Sim Settlements options, I had disabled plot auto upgrades, and it seems that was the issue since when I enabled it, I was able to upgrade the plots normally.

Upgrade to 1.1.10. And yeah setting make a difference. Many things have been fixed since that version. However that said to get all the fixes requires a new game.

Has it been fixed in 1.1.10 ?
As far as I know. Also when city upgrades depending on machine power, might act weird until you sit and do nothing for a long time. This gives scripts a chance to actually remove previous items. Some reports say up to an hour or more.

There seems to be a bug in the code that prevents this from working correctly.
If you want to have manual upgrades for plots, you have to have the setting (something like) Auto Upgrade - Basic Plan = On. There is a setting just below that (something like) Auto Upgrade - Branching Plan you could turn on as well, but as far as I know, there are no building plans that use this currently. Then you should be able to manually upgrade a plot at the ASAM.
