Slaughtering the Brotherhood Of Steel (SPOILERS!)

I wish that I'd taken a screenshot. Testing how BoS armor stands up to laser fire...with a soldier inside.

The stupidity. It needs to die.

Patronizing. I know what my focus is. I just don't expect everyone else to follow my orders in helping me achieve it.

In that way, the Sole Survivor is far more of a loner than the BoS.

@Whisper You inspired me to wipe out the Brotherhood during my Railroad run. Emptying the Prydwen with a gauss rifle was pretty easy.

When you come back later to wipe out the brotherhood with the railroad, I was surprised the entire crew remained dead. One BoS soldier was spawned for the quest and could be sent away with a speech check. Really made the quest anticlimactic.

After you've cleared the Prydwen, don't miss the chance to snipe the Airport from the flight deck.
WITH A FAT MAN! Fun factor x2

@msalaba oh yeah, it's real easy with a Gauss rifle. I took out Elder Maxon and the entire command-crew in about 60 seconds flat. Then I reloaded, so I can putz around a bit and see what I can find that's worth buying/stealing.

I have the Spray'n'Pray, a VATS-enhanced quad barrel missile launcher, and Big Boy. It's gonna be so much fun mixing the weapons up a bit. :)

For some extra fun, I'm grinding XP a little at the moment. I think it's worth trying Blitz and melee weapons in the murder spree. ;) Either Pickman's Blade or Kremh's Tooth, should be interesting.

@Whisper have you taken out the Brotherhood as the Institute? That was a battle!

Now *that* is a BFG...pity that I'm not really a Power Armor fan. (grinding for AP still)

Move it yaself, ya rude biatch. Even the "nice" ones leave something to be desired.

Nice to see another fully modded gauss rifle. I managed to find one with the two shot legendary. OHK anything. I don't use it mush unless i'm in a pinch.

I prefer a silenced 10mm for stealth and a fully modded auto problem solver for mowing down enemies.
edit: (I recently mowed down the raiders so finding ammo is gonna suck!)

I did two levels of grinding and did the final modding myself. A two-shot legendary Gauss Rifle though...wooooooooo! Move over Overseers Guardian! :)

I also generally stick to silenced weapons - the Deliverer and a 10mm Kneecapper are my favorites. Playing around with lasers and heavy weapons is very unlike me. I only really decide to do it because of this BoS business.

I've been having some fun with Blitz and Pickman's Blade, too. ;)
--edit--
That said, I have been thinking of creating a legendary weapon along those lines. A unique two-shot gauss rifle that was supposed to be the final word on gauss rifles development by the military - sort of like the Deliverer is the ultimate in 10mm weapons. The player would have to build their own mods for it.

(I'm corny and am thinking of calling it the "Final Word" and the quest to get it "The Final Word". Whether I'll ever get the modding skill to make that gun and quest I dunno.)

I can't remember for sure, but I think it is 635 base damage.

I got it playing around with the attack button mod coupled with more attackers. I set the options to only spawn gunners. It made for some incredible battles. When I found this weapon among the casualties I almost feinted!

Like I said, I don't use it much as I feel it is a cheat weapon... like a fat man.

When you get to around level 100, some *really* tough gunners start to appear. They quite often have gauss weapons too.

Lots of fun to take down hand-to-hand with a combat knife or Pickman's Blade. It would be pretty intense for the players with the reflexes to do it manually - it can take a good chunk of my VATS bar (16 hits) to get one down, even with the 12x stealth attack bonus given by Ninja and various perks on the first hit.

Lets hear more about that "extra work" you mentioned.
20181026093831_1 (Large).jpg
Do you have to be so damn greasy about it?
20181026093837_1 (Large).jpg
Eh? Makes sense I suppose. Okay, I'm listening...
20181026093843_1 (Large).jpg
Requisitioning?
20181026093846_1 (Large).jpg
Full cooperation. By any means necessary.
20181026093854_1 (Large).jpg
Any means necessary? Care blanche?
20181026093902_1 (Large).jpg
Hmph. A more transparent justification for theft I've not yet seen.
20181026093910_1 (Large).jpg
Yeah, I think I can handle that. Let's see you dig yourself into a deeper (ass)hole.
20181026093915_1 (Large).jpg
You fricken raider mentality...
20181026093925_1 (Large).jpg

Now let's see what settlement I'm supposed to raid. To feed your useless frickin' "troops" who keep dropping vertibirds on the poor sods in the settlements that I've helped get going. (And on me, though I only slightly hold that agin' ya. Even though it's happened a couple times recently.)
20181026093936_1 (Large).jpg
Wait, whut?!
20181026093950_1 (Large).jpg
Why you greasy frickin' high-tech raiders! I helped those people get set up! I put Deacon in charge there to give them a hand! It's a Railroad safe-area, helping against the Institute! And now you want me to steal from those poor bloody settlers!

That does it! Let the extermination begin!
=====================================================
This is my first playthrough, so this set of screens is new to me. While I accidentally ran across a few spoilers online, I'm actually quite surprised that this lot are such...overt psychopath mongrels. Especially after solving the biz with Knight Cade stealing food for the ghouls.

(Spoiler: I convinced him to turn himself in. I shouldn't have bothered, should have left him to be killed in the slaughter-spree to come.)

I need a word with you, Elder Maxson...
20181026100507_1 (Large).jpg
...just a couple...
20181026100532_1 (Large).jpg
...Power Armor? What stinking power armor...?
20181026102108_1 (Large).jpg
...and your command-crew too...despite their grenade-throwing, which killed more of them than I did...
20181026102151_1 (Large).jpg
...pity about you being so brainwashed, Kells...

Ah kin not tell a lie, skunks.20181026102222_1 (Large).jpg
Ah did it, wif muh little Bowie knife.

(And if you know THAT reference without looking it up online, cool!)

I saved you for last, scumbag.

Now that there is silence aboard the Prydwin - it's time for Deadpool-style "maximum effort".
20181026142653_1 (Large).jpg
Had to use the rifle unfortunately. Just too darned many, they swarm you big-time even with stealth.
20181026153454_1 (Large).jpg
Weird. Didn't use as many stimpacks as I thought I would.
20181026153923_1 (Large).jpg
And that, little Shaun, is why Daddy made it his personal mission to exterminate the Brotherhood of Steel. One day I might even tell you about how I shot down the Prydwyn.

b) Just start shooting them with The Last Minute from stealth mode (for me this has around 400 base damage per shot, +50% limb damage = a whopping 600 damage per shot - with 4.8x damage from stealth attacks, +3x damage from critical hits - total of 7.8x damage multiplier, or 4680 damage!)
Is it confirmed to do 50% damage to HP(character health not limb health) when targeting limbs with that Legendary modifier? I had thought it only is a 1.5x modifier to limb damage, as in you will cripple limbs faster.

Two-Shot Gauss may do more damage even still. IIRC It's possible to get maybe up to 1000 damage displayed in Pip boy weapons tab for Two-Shot Gauss with all upgrades, Rifleman rank 5(doubles damage), Bloody Mess rank 3(+15% damage), Lone Wanderer(25% more damage when no companion). Although The Last Minute is much easier to obtain.

I have the Spray'n'Pray
Spray'n'Pray is amazing, give it rapid fire receiver to exploit Explosive damage as much as possible. It's an extra 15 damage per shot that ignores all armor/resistance, on a high fire rate weapon this adds up fast. Probably best vanilla buyable Legendary, with Last Minute & Overseer's Guardian next up.

Most OP possible stuff besides Legendary Fatman/MIRVs would be Explosive Minigun or Explosive Gatling Laser, with attachments set to maximize firing rate. Highest damage single shot is Never Ending Laser Musket since on reload it will use up all fusion cells you have in one shot, even if you had thousands.

The only thing that I don’t have is Lone Wanderer. So yeah I can see that 500/1000 damage.

At 400 x 7.8 = it’s probably gonna die anyway. ;)

When I did this I kinda wish I had Minuteman artillery to try out. Preston and co. were still in Concord. This was my first playthrough ignoring the Minutemen.

I launched a couple of mini nukes to thin the herd. I only had to take down a few stragglers. I think it would have been cool to watch the artillery from the flight deck.
